Purchased 2 of these for the conservatory to replace a couple of brass fittings that were showing their age. They look solid and I am very pleased with the result.Two things that prospective purchasers should be aware of:1. The glass tube is closed at the top which I felt would hold the heat in. Only 30W I know but I chose to use LEDs.2. With mine I found that neither of the pull cords had enough movement to activate the switch. In my case not really a problem because I am using an independent switch, but were they shipped on or off?A closer look and I found that there was a plate with a lip covering the body of the switch, presumably to prevent it being fouled by some sloppy house wiring. Unfortunately, if fitted at a slight angle the plate was doing the very thing that it was supposed to prevent. A minor adjustment and all is well.I deduct 1 star for that one – or am I being harsh?

This is an excellent purchase for a very reasonable price. It is well made and attractive. The light was delivered before the expected date and was very well wrapped. I would recommend it.

A very big disappointment. These items were installed by a qualified electrician. The pull cord snapped at the first use on both lamps. The lamps are no use to anyone as they will not work at all. Returning them seems pointless without a pull cord. A suitable more robust replacement is the least we should expect......without paying for the return. This design fault has been drawn to the attention of the manufacturer....who did not want to know.

Perfect for the bedroom wall for softer light.Like them so much we’re buying more for by our reading chairs in the lounge.The entire light bulb is covered by the glass sleeve so would work well for a bathroom.Only note is it’s got a Matt finish so it picks up dust. But a simple whips keeps them looking good.

used in the bathroom but after a while the switch cord broke and fitting a new cord was very tiresome so I removed the switch and switched it on from the mains switch behind a wall where it was powered from
