Bought this to join sections of 1/2 inch hardware cloth. Clamp tool works great, efficient.

About big enough to join two wooden matchsticks
It was surprisingly difficult to find out whether these would be big enough to join 4x4 bullwire to 1x2 wire fencing, and also surprising that all the available clips seem to be exactly the same size. I found that the clips were the perfect size for two standard wooden matchsticks, which is a tad small for 4x4 bullwire.

Nice and tight crimps.
They make the connections tight. They are hard to use on smaller wire mesh, like 1/2". The crimper is too wide to work into the mesh to crimp. If you have fat fingers and working with small mesh you might find it frustrating.

Too small to use on average wire dog crates.
I've searched and searched on Amazon for larger clips, but couldn't find anything. Thought I'd take a chance and try these since the photo showed they were .7 inches long (which would have worked). But they were the dimensions in the description (.4"). I would not recommend these for anything much thicker than chicken wire.
