A GREAT docking station for my MacBook Pro M3 Max
For someone who uses a laptop for almost all of their work and carries it from home to work and back again, the use of a docking station to allow for rapid connection to display(s), network and other devices is a must. For my particular laptop, the Macbook Pro with M3 max chip, this is THE dock to get. I am connecting to ethernet, a CD/DVD drive and other devices as well as a LG Ultragear 44" display. The display takes up ALL of my desktop so a vertical dock such as this one is the space saver that I need in addition to making a quick connection to everything I use. I have uploaded two photos, the first showing one side of the dock, the second showing the reverse. On Side 1, You can see that I have attached the special cable that came with the dock (more on that in a minute), HDMI to the LG Ultragear 44" display, USB-C to the display, and USB 3.0 to the CD/DVD drive. You can see that on this side, there is also an additional USB 3.0, HDMI and VGA port. I did not try to to connect to an additional display since my LG is more than enough real estate. On side 2 there are two more USB 3.0 ports, a USB-C port, and an audio in/out port. While not shown, I have a set of speakers and a drawing tablet attached to this side. It also has SD and micro SD card slots. In total, more than enough connectivity for the serious user. The third image shows both ends of the dual USB-C cable. One end fits exactly into the two USB-C ports on the side of the MacBook Pro next to the MagSafe power port. This cable allows the dock to drive all of the devices that I have connected and more. So, when I connect at home, I just need to connect the dual USB-C cable and the power cable and I'm good to go!This dock is PERFECT for the MacBook Pro. It CAN be used for others, but it is really the best for the MacBookPro. If you have another laptop, I would recommend the more economical TobenOne Vertical Laptop Docking station that I reviewed as well.

Sort of works (updated)
I have a dual monitor setup and don't have much desk space. In order to save space, I bought this dock so I could close my MacBook Pro and just use the dual monitors. For the most part, it works. I have my laptop's power plugged into the dock and it seems to power the laptop just fine. Once logged into the laptop, the monitors work, the external keyboard, mouse, speakers, etc. all work.Everything is plugged into a power strip (dock, laptop, monitors, external speakers). This way, I once I'm done for the day, I can just use the power strip to switch everything off. After using this for a month, I noticed a couple of problems:1) in order to power on the laptop in the mornings, I do the following: turn the power strip on, take the laptop off the stand, open it, log in, close it, then put it back on the stand. I think that's a design flaw of the Mac laptops and not the dock. Just putting this here so others are aware of the issue if you're planning to use this dock with a MacBook. Not sure if Windows laptops have the same issue or not.2) If I walk away for away for an extended period (e.g. get lunch, etc.) and the laptop goes to sleep (i.e. monitors go off), this causes another problem. When returning from sleep, one of the external monitors will start blinking (powers off/on). This happens about once every 5 minutes or so. It's kinda annoying. When it blinks, I need to pause whatever I'm doing for a second or two until the monitor turns on again. When it first happened, I thought it was the monitor. I checked all the cables and even switched from VGA to HDMI. However, it would still happen. So, I switched the HDMI 1/2 cables. Now the other monitor would do the blinking. This leads me to conclude that it's the HDMI 2/VGA port that's the problem. Which ever monitor is plugged into HDMI 2/VGA port would start blinking when coming out of sleep. To "fix" this, I changed the power settings on the laptop so the monitors never turns off. This change seems to work.Other than these 2 issues, the dock works as intended.--------------------------------Updated review:After posting this review, the seller reached out to me and offered a replacement. (Awesome customer service!!!!!)After using the replacement for a week, I can report that the blinking monitor issue is resolved.Updated my rating to 5 stars!
