I had mistakenly purchased 1 gallon brew jars with air locks, assuming that they would come with lids. Found these lids and hoped that they would fit. Currently brewing a batch of mead! This saved me from having to buy more jars with lids, and bonus airlocks!

Let's CO2 out, and keeps bugs from getting in. Good fit on the gallon jars.

I there is an issue with this gadget, it won't fit the mouth of the one gallonjar that I bought together with this lid. The information of the manufacturerthat it will fit any 1 gallon jar is misleading. Now I cannot use it for fermenting.Will look for a 1 gal jar that will fit it in. Unhappy with it.

It is comical to see all the “it doesn’t fit” reviews. The industry makes at least two different gallon jar lid sizes, 3” and 4” standard. 110 mm was the given measurement so do the math, google it!With that said :), this is the best lid/seal combo out there. I ordered my jars from ULINE, the plastic and metal lids that come with those don’t have the highest quality seal or thread fit.I recommend this product because you also get the seal, grommet and airlock with the lid. It’s a good value without having to spend money for the parts to assemble this yourself and a good step drill to make the hole for the grommet.The threads in the lids match up perfect to the 4” jar threads. Currently, the plastic lids that come with the jars have “paper” seal and off gassing can slip by and are hard to sanitize. The metal lids that come with the jars have lil better seal but the threads “lock up” mainly because they are flimsy/bend easily. This lid/seal combo is clearly more superior and easy to sanitize all the parts.Buy it!
