MilitarOriginal German Army Field Jacket Parka Military Issue Hooded Flecktarn Combat, Camouflage
A**R
You wouldn't see me buying one............... because I'd be so well camouflaged
I honestly don't know if these jackets are 100% genuine German Army issue/surplus, or copies, but they sure are are better than the British Army camouflaged combat jackets of the 1990's. Okay, these German 'field jackets' aren't as thick and warm as 'combat jackets' BUT they are made from nice tough, windproof and rainproof material, with superb stitching, toggle drawstrings at the waist, hood, and hem, poppers instead of buttons, velcro at the wrist, and just the one zip down the front (which is covered by a flap with poppers. The zip reaches from under the chin down to the belly-button, whereafter the poppers take over, all the way down to the hem, which, comes to about halfway down my thigh. This is excellent as the long jacket keeps the warmth in from the mid-thigh up, AND if one needs to access ones trouser pockets, or undo a belt on one's trousers, one can un-pop the bottom of the jacket and gain access, rather than have to unzip or unbutton the jacket all the way down from the neck to the thighs. There are also 2 zips, 1 under each armpit which allow access to any breast-pockets in jackets or shirts worn UNDER the field jacket. I've worn the jacket every day, more often than not in rain, or drizzle, and it's kept me warm and dry throughout. Light rain kind of runs off like water off a duck's back for a while, but of course, it does eventually get damp, but the material dries out very quickly - quicker than the material used for British Army combat jackets and trousers. As for the camouflage pattern, you can't beat the Germans for theirs since WWII and this one is a classic. I've hung mine in some bushes and haven't been able to find it again. I shall have to buy a new one. Never mind..... it's the only item I've bought on Amazon which I'd gladly pay double for!
