Yes, no problem. It’s a good head. It likes 2x12 cabs with V30s running at 8ohms.

Q: The top gets extremely hot. is that normal?

Hot is normal. Some amps are even what I’d call “very” hot; they won’t burn your hand but aren’t comfortable either. “Extremely” hot would most likely coincide with a change in sound and signify a problem, but what you probably need most is an objective measurement of temperature. Then you can verify what temps are normal via Hughes & K or a quick search and know for sure.
