Excellent value for the money
I recently purchased the 40L version as I was marshalling at a motorsports event for the weekend and I have to say it performed faultlessly. As a refrigeration engineer of 50 years I wanted to test this unit a week before it was going to be pressed into service and for those who like the Stats here they are...With an outside ambient temp of 22deg Cit took ten minutes to drop from 20 to 10 Cand then a further five minutes to reach zero.I reset it to -10C. Within five minutes it hit -10C.It took a further fifteen minutes to reach -20C.The system works on a two deg differential. In other words it will cut out at the set temperature then as the temp slowly rises it will start again with the temp two degrees warmer.I checked the noise levels of the unit in my workshop and my meter recorded 27dB with the unit working and 17dB with the unit off. This will be classified as a whisper. If you are in the same room at night with this unit you may well hear it start and stop, but this depends on your hearing.General frost buildup was good and in common with most chillers/freezers it starts at the top of the unit. With this I was well pleased with the performance, but remember it WILL take longer in a warmer ambient!I put a saucer of water in the base and I needed to set the thermostat to -5C in order for it too freeze the water. Keeping it at this temperature will make everything very cold!!The unit was quite light to carry, but remember when you fill it you may need to be careful. The wheels were excellent and the carrying handle will lock into position and you just need to press to button on top of the handle to compress the handle itself. It has a drain plug in the bottom but I just used a few paper kitchen towels to wipe it dry as there really wasn't much water. When I plugged it into the van it worked perfectly well but you will need to read the instructions as the unit has three power supply settings as it is set up not to drain the vehicles battery, another thoughtful addition.Basically I was delighted with this unit. If you have a question just ask me!!

Perfect for every day use.
I live on a small sailing yacht on a marina. My inbuilt onboard fridge developed a major problem, which would have cost over £700 to replace the compressor and plate. As I could not afford the replacement cost, I decided to find a temporary solution by buying the Alpicool IR42 39.7L Car Fridge Freezer Portable Compressor Car Refrigerator. When it arrived, I immediately unpacked it and installed it on the boat. I was amazed at how quickly it dropped down in temperature and how quiet it was in operation. The fridge is extremely well-made and strong and holds a complete week's worth of shopping. Although it takes up a bit of room on the boat due to its size, I have grown very fond of it. It's a lot easier to access the contents than my old fridge, and I love the little, easy-to-operate control panel. I am now considering that it will be my permanent solution to the problem of having to pay to replace my old and antiquated inbuilt fridge because of its quality. I would certainly recommend this portable fridge/freezer to anyone.

Very light and cools ❄️ very quickly
Have had this fridge in my van running for 2 days now first time using it chilled down very quickly from 20 to -1 less than 10 minutes also has loads of space in it I like the way the vents are up high so they can’t get blocked/covered easily by items in your van 🚐 I’ve wedged it in so it doesn’t scoot about as it has wheels 🛞 the only problem I can see is it doesn’t have an interior light 💡 other than that I’m very pleased with ( running off a 100ah lesuire battery with 200w solar panels the fans are quiet also defo recommend well worth the £££

The instructions are more or less useless
I have only tried it on both mains and 12 volt, it cools down very rapidly bear in mind that after its switched on it will run for 3 minutes before the compressor starts it's part of the actual process and it's meant to do so, once it reaches the desired temperature it switches off the compressor and seems to hold the preset temperature for a long time if you don't open the lid so it's very well insulated. It's not a lightweight item it's big and bulky but it holds a lot of stuff. It can only be used as either a freezer or a fridge depending on what temperature you set it to, the instructions are written in pigeon English translated from Chinese, hard to follow and don't tell you enough about how to set the temperature control up only how to get it to read in degrees Fahrenheit or Celcius, nothing about how to set up your required range etc. The bluetooth connection works well once you have found it on google play as there is no mention of where or what to look for in the instructions, I found that if I get it to the E1 setting on the control panel then I can successfully adjust the preset temperature range, once you start playing with it that bit becomes self explanatory, but believe me it's a good job I'm a compulsive button pusher or it would never work from following the instructionsAside from that it works it's cheap and should keep food frozen or refrigerated wellI would recommend it on price aloneI do reiterate it is heavy and cumbersome to carry the big chunky wheels and handle make manoeuvring on flat surfaces a doddle but carrying it isnt easyHope this helps

Campervan compressor fridge.
Awesome Travel Fridge. This compressor fridge is truly worth it's weight in gold. Purchased for our Campervan trip to France, it has loads of room for 2/3 days worth of fresh food, milk, butter etc. Quiet enough when running, the Bluetooth function is great too, you can monitor / adjust temperatures, and change between power modes using the app. It's functionality was invaluable during our trip. There are 2 areas within the compartment, the short shelf is technically a freezer and the deeper compartment is the fridge. Frozen items placed on the short shelf stay frozen for a considerable amount of time, ice cubes / lollys etc. Its great.
