Q: Do these socks slide down into the shoe when you wear them on long walks ?

I have the same problem and here is my cure. I have a narrow heel and if the socks fit nicely but walk down, I have found that the heels on my shoes are a little too wide. It causes the shoes to slide up and down when I walk, thus causing the socks to slide down. If you purchase a pair of heel grips, this will stop the socks from sliding down.

Plus size means large feet. I would not expect them to fit a size 5

Yes, the 9-11 fits shoe size 8. I wear an 8 or 8 1/2 shoe size and these socks fit great.
