One Potato, Two Potato. . .This Is A Lot Of Potatoes!
We really scarf these potatoes down. It's almost scary. They're so delicious and easy to prepare, they're the go-to side dish every time. Anyway, each box is 13.75 ounces and makes 18 1/2 cup servings. One thing I've noticed is that inside the box, the potatoes are not wrapped in additional plastic, foil, cellophane. . .just dried potato flakes in the box. Since a case is likely to hang around in the kitchen for some time (this is a good-sized supply) I did go ahead and wrap each box before storing just to keep the bugs out. Probably not really necessary, but it took only a few minutes and will avoid any problems. These arrived quickly and in good condition. Good deal, very happy.

Best potatoes on the market. Taste like real potatoes. I ordered them online, then discovered them at Wal-Mart, but will still buy online becauseI like to stock up for the year.You won't be disappointed!!

There ARE Differences between packages.
Last purchase was Idahoan 'Real' Mashed Potatoes, their mashed potatoes with added dry milk.This purchase was 'ORIGINAL' Idahoan Mashed Potatoes. This pkg. is what I bought 2 years ago that is ONLY Potato Flakes. I believed the 'Real' Idahoan Mashed Potatoes were the 'Original' Idahoan Mashed Potatoes...I thought they had just re-branding the title. It shouldn't be that hard to purchase the correct product when there are major differences between the 2 products. It would be nice if Idahoan placed on the front of the Real container 'added milk', to help us see the difference.#1 I use them in my bread dough, and don't want that extra milk.#2 The 'Real' Idahoan Mashed Potatoes come out grainy.The 'Original' Idahoan Mashed Potatoes are creamier, like mashed potatoes should be. No, they will never taste exactly like fresh mashed potatoes, but so worth the convenience.I do use Peak Dry Whole Milk Powder when making 'Original' Idahoan Mashed Potatoes, but they do not turn out grainy like the 'Real' Idahoan Mashed Potatoes. The only thing I can think of; is it must be the way they bind the dried milk with the potato flakes, so they don't become separated.

Basic Mashed Potato Flakes
It's basic and it works. Usually I end up using it for mashed potatoes, but you can make a pretty good quick potato soup as well.
