This set was recommended in forums of nerds as a very fun and advanced build. Them nerds were not wrong. The details are so cute, I mean come on, the forge lights up! That’s awesome. I usually build Legos sets as display pieces but this one really invites play. And wait until you get to the rug on the third level, it’s so clever!

A small amount of background-- like many people I grew up playing with Legos. I absolutely loved building the castle sets and think about those times quite fondly. That was over 20 years ago, and I haven't built a set since.When I saw the blacksmith's house online, I thought it looked amazing. As a big fan of medieval architecture, the building really caught my eyes. I had never heard of the Lego Ideas concept before, so was quite surprised to learn about all that. I got sick and so decided to buy this, as I knew I was going to be stuck inside the house for quite a few days. WOW, what an impressive product! I built it over a few days, and had so many jaw dropping moments where I just had to stop and marvel at how creatively the designer crafted this unit. The amount of details in the set are mind boggling, and yet it never feels overdone or like things were slapped on. Ever brick was so lovingly considered in this set. I HIGHLY recommend it.TLDR: if you you like medieval architecture, appreciate good design, and have an eye for detail, treat yourself and GET THIS SET!

The set itself is absolutely 5 stars. When these sets become retired what gets sold on Amazon is always damaged. Mine is complete but the box had a big puncture. Goes great with the new D&D set!!

Such a fun build, so many unique pieces and new ways to use existing pieces. The detail is outstanding, even for lego. I kind of want to take it apart so I can rebuild it again!

This blacksmith shop is really cool looking but is definitely made for more advanced lego users. One part of the instructions was not clear for putting a post in correctly.
