The pieces were very easy to assemble. Nice wax coating on the boxes. I did buy beeswax to melt & add an additional coat to the foundations as I will with all plastic to give the bees a boost. Would definitely buy again.

Nice product, well engineered. Instructions are clear, plus because the mortice and tennon assembly uses sort of tapered wedge mortices, pieces only go together when you have them right. Do think Honey Lake should rethink the one top screw on each corner of the box as it is too easy to over- tighten and split the wood AND they might pre-drill the frames for the nails - if they wanted it to be perfect.Guessing, as the product was this sweetly engineered for this price, that Honey Lake had these hives made in China. But if so - nice job there in Shengzhou.

Very easy to build. Instructions are OK even for a novice (me). Super high quality parts and beeswax coated wood.

Simple to assemble once I looked them over and decided to simply heat the waxed components and press them together. No hammering required that way and they solidified into a solid unit. Pre-drilled every screw and nail hole anyway to be sure nothing would split. Also, you don't need to over tighten the screws. If you don't have access to a heat gun try a good hair dryer. Once the wax is warm everything slips together. Long term I don't know yet. Each 3 box set took about 2 hours including frames while I drank coffee.

I purchased 2 of these, and they have been solid so far. Simple and sturdy construction. Wax coating is decent. Price was best I could find as well. I've purchased another brand's 10-frame hive for about $10 more. It's nice too, but I like this one more because it doesn't have any labeling/branding and slightly better wax coating it seems. Will be buying more when I get more bees - good product.

This hive comes with everything you need to start your hive or replace a hive. The lumber is of excellent quality. The lumber has been waxed. The foundations are waxed. The craftsmanship makes it easy to assemble. I like that this kit comes with an extra super.

I bought two hive boxes. One 10 Fran and one eight. The eight Fran was better quality, but the ten Frame here went together easier.The 8 frame from the other was better cut. But this one was better covered with bees wax. For the price it was good! I busted the top on both. My drill was too much. Fits together well and a good price! My New NUC will love it

I finally got one today after the first two were damaged in transit. Amazon reimbursed me rather than sending a new one and of course the cost was higher when I ordered again. Hopefully the product is decent.Update: seems like a great hive. We are new to bee keeping but the hive went together well and appears to be well built.
