Fluke Networks LIQ-KIT LinkIQ Cable + Network Tester Kit

If you need to test through put on a cable, not just what a switch is advsrtising, this is the test set for you. Has all needed features, remotes work great and will save you a ton of effort. A note about TDR for those who don't understand it: TDR sends a voltage pulse down the wire, and waits for a reflection (rcalled 'ringing' in electronics). It then calculates time of flight, divides by 2, and provides a measurement. TDR works ONLY on disconnected cables (both ends free). You cannot reliably TDR into/through a switch port because you don't know what circuitry it has, of how it will handle it. This meter is a joy and worth every penny!

This is one of my most expensive tools I own, but its worth every penny. The detail and capabilities of the Fluke LinkIQ meter is unmatched, and offers definitive and documented information for jobs. I especially enjoy being able to fully certify cable runs and troubleshoot existing ones. Its very helpful to show a customer visually the reason why their ancient CAT5E wire cannot run modern high speeds or PoE. I also like being able to look before I leap and connect the instrument to a run and know what I'm dealing with and what its connected to, preventing expensive rogue PoE mistakes.Fluke instruments are expensive, but their worth the money. You truly get what you pay for -- and if you want to do the job right, you gotta have the right tools.

The device does what i need it to do. It checks switch POE power, cable length, cable speed but it doesnt certified the work.

The Tester does its job and does it well: very simple to use and accurate. Only issue I have with it is the unit I received was a refurbished device ... paid for a new one ... and for Fluke it is always a lot.

This device has a RJ45 with a Maximum speed of 1 Gig Nic inside it so it can only connect at speeds up to 1 Gig
