Great replacement
This was an easy fix for my kitchen aid mixer when the original gear stopped working. It was easy to find a video to show me how to replace it. My mixer is running better than ever. It is even a little more quiet.

Perhaps not as good as OEM version.
I ordered based on reviews. I did an install according to a very explicit and clear YouTube video on a channel called "Mr. Mixer". My issue was particular because I was using the mixer to mix a very heavy dough: a biga recipe from Vito Iacopelli's channel. I used the mixer for this a few times with success, but, it's an older version, and, eventually the gears started to slip. After installing this unit, the mixer runs smoothly, if a bit louder, but can't handle the heavy dough. The gears slip noisily and precariously threatening a full breakdown if I were to continue. For ordinary doughs and general use, my repaired mixer is fine. According to KitchenAid, Vito's biga recipe exceeds their recommended running times for heavy doughs, so take that into consideration. I'm just wondering if I get back in there and replace with an OEM KitchenAid product would it possibly work better? Or maybe for biga pizza dough I have to bite the bullet and get an Ankarsrum? For the moment, at least, I'm mixing the biga dough by hand.Cheers, N.
