Fun toy and great learning tool!
The media could not be loaded. We bought this toy over two years ago and it's still in great condition. Our little one has played with this toy many times. It's been dropped, tossed, crawled on and the stickers and animals still look new!Even though there's no music or a voice to teach anything there is so much your little ones can do and learn with this. The numbers 1-5 are on the top of each animal. There are five animals and five colors your little one will learn. If your child is just learning to speak this is a great tool besides being a fun toy for them.We use this to teach our little guy many different words such as open, close, twist, slide, etc..Overall it's a great toy and a fun gift!

Favorite birthday gift for year old grandson
I have used this toy when I taught Early Intervention and knew it was a quality gift for my grandson. It is GREAT to develop cause and effect, fine motor control, and great eye-hand coordination. They have a very easy choice to activate the pop-up animal in a button form and they also have other push, pull and turn levers so that the toy grows with your child’s ability. He plays with it contantly. It is light and has a handle so a child can carry it around. You can even use it to play games as they develop their verbal/problem solving skills—-Where’s the Panda? Where’s the Elephant? Great toy!

This toy is great. My daughter received it for Christmas when she was 9 months old. At that age she couldn't pop up any of the characters. So I would pop them up and she would close the them. We continued playing with it and one by one she learned how to operate each button. The buttons are a little difficult, but she is now 18 months and can now pop up all 5 characters on her own. And she still loves it - it's one of our go-to toys. It was great to see her progression as she figured out each one. No batteries needed, no annoying songs, teaches problem solving, almost a year of amusement - definitely recommended.Update: Getting ready for the arrival of our 2nd daughter my now 3 year old has rediscovered this toy. She likes to put little figures on each door and pop them open sending them flying into the air!

Great toy!
My 2 year old loves this toy. At first, he would only press the center button since it was the easiest, and eventually moved on to the rest of the buttons. It is made of hard plastic, sturdy, not too heavy for a toddler, and best of all.. no batteries! It does come with stickers already on the toy, but due to its location, my son never tried to peel them off. If you feel that it may pose a problem, you may just peel them off with a bit of alcohol. The main problem that I found with the toy was the 4th "button" (acts like a key you have to turn) right out of the box. It is the most difficult one to engage since you have to turn it at a certain speed or else it won't pop up. Even I have a hard time sometimes with it, so imagine my son. He usually skips it or asks for help to engage it. I sometimes think it may be broken, but I am not sure since it doesn't sound like there is a broken piece. Maybe one day I will be brave enough to open it up to see (and hopefully be able to put it back together!)Overall, great toy. I am very glad that I got this for my son. Compared to his other toys, this toy has lasted my son's interest the longest.Just for your information, the colors shown in the main image do not match the version that we got. It is a purple/blue color, but the buttons are different colors. It was a no biggie for me, but just so you are aware.

Great! No Batteries Required - Hallelujah
10 month old is a bit young for this toy but he's already getting the hang of it. Mercifully this toy does not require batteries. It's also simple enough to not distract them but still engaging. He's actually learning something useful rather than just being distracted and overwhelmed by noises and flashing lights. We started with all the pop ups open and he spent a lot of time occupied just trying to figure out how to close them. Then he moved on to learning how to press and push the various buttons, etc. Wish more toys were this simple yet functional and educational.

My toddler has really enjoyed it
My just 2-year-old has enjoyed this Poppin' Pals Toy for a whole year. She loves the animals. She started by saying the sounds they make (giraffes make a chewing noise, we learned) and can now say all of their names. It took her a while to learn to turn the lion "key" latch which was a frustration and a welcome challenge depending on the day. She also likes to pretend to count the animals. I love hearing "I did it!" I also like that it is lightweight and aside from a potential direct drop onto a foot, I don't worry about her carrying it. I like that it doesn't need batteries and doesn't play music or make other electronic noise. If you're looking for a simple toy that is fun, I recommend this one. I took one reviewer's advice, and before giving to my daughter, I put clear packing tape over the decorative stickers. They have lasted very well this way.
