Q: Do these fit entirely over the ear?

I have very big ears and these fit over them. Also I have several headsets about 6 that I can visually see and these are the most comfortable. Unfortunately when I travel to Asia on that 18 & a half hour flight I can't use these because they are big, but they are the most comfortable head sets I own.

It does have surround sound. The only thing that is bad about this (otherwise a FANTASTIC headphone) is the sound is LOW! The quality of the sound is top knotch, just low! Producer of this headphone, if you are reading this, find a way to make it louder please and it will be a PERFECT headphone.

Q: is the mic detachable?

There is no mic on these headphones. They are just headphones. The cord is detachable though.
