Yes, I used it in cakes, frostings and cookies. Also in mixed drinks, special pancakes. I am an experimenter, and it was always a good idea to try it for flavor when you wanted that real vanilla taste. So great in coffee.

Q: Is this gluten free? Vanilla extract is usually made with alcohol, a gluten containing product.

It doesn't say anything about gluten free on the product. It just says "natural flavors" and nothing about vanilla extract. I does say that it's made in a facility/equipment that processes egg, milk, and nut products. You can contact the company directly through their website at http://www.amoretti.com/customer_service.
