To clarify, this review is for the FOAMING formula, not the creamy formula. Amazon has combined both products, so the reviews and Q&As are mixed up.I’ve been using this cleanser for just about 2 years. I have cystic acne, acne scaring, and combination skin. This wash has been very helpful in improving my skin. I use it with a chemical exfoliant and gel moisturizer (and SPF).The formula doesn’t strip my skin or leave a residue behind, which are major concerns for acne prone skin. It’s gentle enough to use multiple times a day and doesn’t contain common irritants (e.g. fragrance).It doesn’t “fight” acne any more than an ordinary face wash would (it doesn’t contain salicylic acid, benzoylperoxide, or glycolic acid), nor does it moisturize. However, it doesn’t interfere with other products, it doesn’t clog pores, and it’s a good foundation for building a skincare routine.There can be a small learning curve to use. You really have to work the cleanser into a lather with your hands before washing your face. A little goes a long way.

I love this product!! I have the worst problem with every product I've used to clean and moisturize my face. They all have caused my skin to break out terribly!! I was very scared to give this product a try but I am soooo glad I did!! My facial skin looks wonderful!! I have not experienced any skin irritation!! I am finally able to feel what it's like to clean the dirt and oil from my face without drying it out and without irritation. Thanks for finally creating a product that's affordable and works for people like me with very very sensitive skin!! Buy it folks it work!!

Review for "Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser, 12 Ounce" please confirm this matches the priduct you're looking at! This cleanser works just as well as Purity Made Simple by Philosophy and is about 1/3rd the price! Removes waterproof eye makeup and heavy mascara with ease. Non-irritating formula. Just be sure to get the FOAMING version not the 'creamy cleanser' version. Bought that instead once (the bottles are nearly identical) and that does not work nearly as well for me, at all. Edited to add: this review is for "Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser, 12 Ounce" and NOT the "Extra Gentle" cleanser. I'm not sure why this review is appearing under that product as well. Amazon, please fix this!

I've use this product for years. If you have extremely sensitive skin like acne, then you might want to use this cleanser because it doesn't have any frangrance or harsh chemicals in it that will irritate the skin. Very mild soap. I recommend you buy a moisturizer by neutrogena because it leaves your face a little dry after washing it.

Product is good but packing not so good. One of two shipped had leaked considerably.

I have been using this product for about 10 years now. Twice a day every day. I am fortunate not to have any skin issues. Pair with your favorite moisturizer as it does dry out your skin a little after washing, as do most products. I prefer the FOAMING version compared to the creamy. I also use a face loofa once a day with this product.

It is gentle on your skin, non drying, moisturizing. Only one I have ever used. I am 81 years old and have clear, smooth skin. Thanks to Neutrogena Cleanser and Moisturizers!!!

I have very sensitive skin with rosacea and this stuff is gentle enough that it doesn't aggravate it AND it removes all my makeup (I wear a lot) and can almost remove waterproof mascara if I try long enough. I just keep reordering it over and over....my only complaint is that it could be more moisturizing...that would make it perfection. It isn't drying...it's just not moisturizing and I have dry skin.
