In uproarious celebration of Black Sabbath's 50th anniversary, Magnetic Eye presents a double-album featuring 15 heart-stopping renditions of classic tunes from across the Sabbath discography by some of the riff-heaviest bands in the worldwide stoner doom scene. As a companion piece to Vol. 4 Redux, Best of Black Sabbath features both faithful takes and almost unrecognizable re-creations, all in devotion and tribute to the godfathers of metal. Best of Black Sabbath includes ripping tracks from Earthless, Rwake, Caustic Casanova, Howling Giant, Elephant Tree and more.

Tops Rhino's two disc set, but...
...it isn't perfect. Still, it's the best one if you're looking for a Black Sabbath overview, with it's great sound quality and two packed CD's (79+ minutes) you can't go wrong. This one tops the Rhino two disc set.As for this collection, my only complaint would be a little less material from the 1975-1978 Ozzy period and more from the Dio and Gillan albums. Born Again (with Ian Gillan) for example, is one of the most underrated Sabbath albums and the only song they used wasn't even one of the better ones. I think "Disturbing the Priest" would have been a better choice to close out this collection, not to mention "Trashed" or "Born Again" would have been good if they had given more time for the other singers. Anyway, most people aren't buying this for the Gillan or Dio selections but rather Ozzy, even if it isn't good Ozzy, because the media tells them Ozzy, Ozzy, Ozzy. Also not good, was the booklet's printing, which was rather small and hard to read. But maybe that was just my copy. If you are looking to have a good overview of Black Sabbath, save money and buy this collection over Rhino's two disc set. Oh, I'd love to see something like this for the classic Deep Purple lineup. After all, they are one of the big three: Purple/Zeppelin/Sabbath. Case closed!

Great
I'm 29 and I just recently got in to black sabbath. So what I mean by that is that I'm not a long time hardcore fan that's been following the bands changes through out the years. I mainly like them in the earlier years with Ozzy like N.I.B , war pigs etc and for some stupid reason I can't get most of those early songs in iTunes . Anyways the double cd is great every song but 3 of them are Ozzy songs. Great for the gym to hype you up.

Tony Martin is the man.
Headless Cross and Valhalla are the best tracks on this best of but how can you not have Anu Mundi on it. I don't want to Google if I spelled that song write so everyone can deal with it. Good enough. Martin is a master. 2nd greatest singer Sabbath had besides Dio being number 1 of course. Iommi shows some series chops in these tracks. Enjoy.

None better...
Two thumbs up with the delivery...I'll definitely buy more from this seller. This is a kick ass CD, some might call it old school but you'll see that you can't readily find this in a music store selling used CD's. There is unique sinister sound to this style that gets to the soul of a headbanger, way better than what's currently being played on the radio these days.

A Feast for Black Sabbath Fans
There is lots of great stuff here. And this is worth it for the re-mastered versions of War Pigs and Paranoid alone. Those have been two of my favorite tunes for years, and yet they really never sounded right on the old cd's. The intended crankability power of these tunes (and all the others) is finally here. I still want to get the individual albums re-mastered on cd, but this is a great collection of tunes and will receive a lot of playing time in mine and many other cd players. Its even good enough to burn another one to have in the car.

Great Classic
This album still rings as if it were produced yesterday. The music is just soooo damn good. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a compilation that pulls out the best. Are there a few songs that should have been included? Sure, all "Best of" albums are like that. But everyone at our house loves this album.

The Best Sabbath Compilation
Starting with the first album and ending with Mob Rules this includes nearly all of the early Sabbath classics with Evil Woman, which was previously unreleasd in the US and even includes Zero The Hero from the Gillan period. Of all the compilations out ther this is the one that I always come back to. All these songs on 2 discs. Not perfect but better than the rest.
