While these aren't foolproof, they certainly are much easier and less messy to use than the liquid dye. One packet is perfect for my 1/4 acre pond.You still need to wear gloves when handling them but one hefty toss and they do the rest.

I love these packets because I don't need to worry about getting dye on my hands; I just toss a packet in once a month. This product helps keep underwater pond weeds from growing out of control by blocking some of the sunlight, and as a bonus, the color looks really pretty!

Works well, color is very nice. We have approx. 100,000 gallons and if I could go back, I would only use one pack for a slight tint. So, before you throw two packs in, try one a wait a day or too. Wear gloves, this stuff takes days to get off your hands. No problems with the fish.

What i liked: Almost no mess and powerful enough to give a 1.5acre pond a pleasant blue tint.Why i gave it a 4 instead of 5: While the packets keep most of the powder contained, the plastic bag containing the packets had a small amount of fine powder that wasn't inside the packet. After i threw the packets in the pond i discovered my hands were.....blue. Of course i was able to scrub it off, but i was surprised how well it worked...on me. i will still order more. i like it better than liquid alternatives. But, i will be more careful with how i extract the packets from the plastic bag!

I wrote a bad review on packaging before but decided to try product again because I like the way the product works in the pond (Once you get it In The Pond!!). The blue dye still reappears on garage floor from leakage after opening outer bag months ago.This time I opened the new outer bag next to the pond but blue powder again shows up on pants, shoes, grass, etc. because of broken inner bag again.It shouldn’t be that difficult to package powder better.

The blue dye works well on our pond.
