Rapiddominance Boonies Hat

Good quality material fits my big head. Decent shape retention. Arrived earlier than expected.

I originally bought the XL based on my head measurements and the size chart. When I got it it was too big and I had to get the Large hat instead. So if your head is close to the boundary of two sizes, go with the smaller of the two.Otherwise it is a nice hat. I like it now that I got the correct size. There is a nice tag inside that gives you the impression that this is a military issue hat, then sewn right next to that one is another tag that says "Made in China". But the quality seems very good. While I've only had it a month, I think it will last a while.I don't know what else to say. It's a nice hat. It keeps my head out of the sun in hot weather. It keeps sun out of my eyes. Deflects light rain. Rolls up and packs very well. Best of all..It is unique among my circle of friends. So I get to be different.

Lots of hats like this are sold, but if you wore one in the military, most seem to have too wide a brim.This one is great. Just the right size not to obstruct vision too much, but enough to give some protection from sun.I work a labor intensive job outside in all elements and picked this up to give me some more protection from sun than the ball cap the company provides.I have family members that have gotten skin cancer, so I try to protect myself.This is perfect for work, and luckily the boss approved it since there’s no logo.It’s light, comfortable, fits perfectly, and is easy to wash. I’ll definitely pick up at least another one, maybe 2.

I ordered one in khaki & one in woodland - both were identical in size & quality. Seller promptly shipped, & items were well-packaged. RD's boonies are very good quality especially when considering the super reasonable prices. The brims are as described & just as I wanted. The crown could be more rounded & not so high - personal preference & not a deal-breaker. Hats are soft, comfortable & a bit floppy, but that's why I purchased them. I like the size of the brim, it’s just right size.

I have another RAPDOM boonie hat in woodland camo which fits perfectly. Different color but same size ( a medium) as the one i ordered in black. The black one runs a bit big (the hat goes over my ears amd does not fit as snuggly) and the material seems to be slightly different from the woodland camo one i have. This one in black seems to be a thinner cotton and actually weighs less than the camo one. Its noticeable even by holding it. I also notice that the black one was made in Bangladesh, but the woodland camo one was made in China. This may have something to do with the different materials. RAPDOM is eithed manufacturing them a bit differently or buying from two seperate suppliers. All in all this hat is okay but not as good as my other one. I give 3 stars because the hat is still good, but the inconsistency between two hats of the same size and material (100% cotton) makes it annoying as a customer to receive the hat and have them fit and feel different. I was a second time buyer because i wanted the same quality as my previous purchase, but I'm left disappointed. Also since there are only 3 sizes, exchanging for a small would likely do nothing as this one is just barely too big.

Just got the hat last week before a much anticipated weekend camping trip with my wife. Wore the hat all weekend long and it served me well. The fit was just right....snug to the head, but not to the point of giving me a headache. Just enough brim to keep the Sun out of my eyes while not restricting my eyesight looking up. The hat tends to run a bit warm on the head, but not too terribly bad. I'm used to wearing bandanas and the hat is a bit heavier than they are. Most likely it's just me and I need to acclimate to it. What I loved most is that it kept the tree pollen off my head. Everything...and I mean EVERYTHING was covered in pollen, including the hat, so I gave it a hand washing and put it out on the front porch to dry. This morning I went to get my hat and it was GONE! Seems my faithful four legged 'best friend' decided it was a MUCH better chew toy for him than a hat for me. Luckily the chin strap took the worst of it. I'm not much for chin straps so the decision to keep it or remove it was made for me. The brim has a couple spots where teeth met fabric, but it gives it a used feel and makes the hat look like it's seen more 'combat' than it really has. Over all I like the hat very much. Badger and I both give it five full stars!
