Glorious piece of technology. Yes, you need this monitor.
I was initially concerned about buying a Philips monitor because I assumed the quality would not be on par with other well-known brands. The reasonable price, 4 year warranty, and good reviews are what led me to settle on this monitor.PANELThe screen itself is bright. I tend to keep the brightness level around 85-90.1. Text looks clear both in the middle and the sides2. Contrast is good3. Images look great4. Colors are quite accurate- I have not made any changes to customize the colors of the panel. Out of the box the colors looked good to me. I am not planning on using this monitor for editing photos. I have another monitor that is more geared towards creative work.AESTHETICSThe whole monitor looks great. Even the back has sort of a brushed look. I love it!CURVEI really enjoy the curve. I have heard some people say that the curve takes time to get used to, but getting used to it seemed easy to me. I don't think I would want a monitor wider than this. The size is perfect.Thankfully the monitor I received was in perfect condition. No dead pixels. Philips dead pixel policy is not clear at all. I hope that this will never be an issue. The 4 year warranty seems pretty awesome. Seems like Philips will stand behind their product.GAMESI have not yet tested any serious games on this monitor, but I will soon and post an update here. I did play some Roblox and the game filled the whole screen. Any content that fills the whole screen is really awesome.USB-CMy work laptop is a Lenovo ThinkPad. The USB-C port on the laptop where I plug the power adapter did nothing when I connected the monitor using the supplied USB-C cable. This is probably a misunderstanding on my part. There is a secondary USB-C port on the laptop that has an energy bolt next to it. When I plugged the monitor into that USB-C port, the laptop displayed on the monitor in 1440p, and the laptop was receiving a charge from the monitor. Pretty amazing.STANDThe stand is very sturdy. The screen can tilt up & down, twist left and right, and can raise up & down. Very happy with this.SPEAKERSThe speakers are great if you consider they are built-in speakers, not dedicated reference monitors. It's a very welcomed addition, and they do the job.PURPOSEPeople may settle on this monitor for different reasons. For me the biggest reason was work. Having this monitor for work is a total dream. I am an IT engineer, so being able to have Visual Studio Code, PowerShell, Outlook, and the Azure portal all open at the same time (I have a 2nd monitor) really helps with productivity.A creative professional may want to avoid the curve and go for a panel with even higher color accuracy. A gamer might want more than 100hz to keep gameplay as smooth as possible. If you are looking for more screen real estate and you want to be more productive, then this monitor is for you.Side note: Amazon's characteristics for this item don't make any sense. They asked me to give a rating for the "sheerness" and "thickness" of the monitor.

Great for the Price
This PHILIPS 346E2CUAE 34" Curved Monitor is a gem of a monitor, often overlooked by reviewers. I bought it on sale for $370 a couple of weeks ago, though I see it is currently at its full price of $419. At $370, it's hard to beat. At $419, there may be other options to consider. But it seems to go on sale frequently. It works flawlessly with my 2020 Mac Mini M1. Plug and play. Bam! There it is. No flicker, no spurious shut-downs that other reviewers have warned of. I am not a gamer. I use this monitor for productivity.Installation is easy and the USB-C port is a useful addition. One of the best features is that there are four USB-A ports (two powered, two data-only) on the left side of the monitor that are easy to access. I don't know why most monitor makers place their extra USB ports tucked away inaccessibly in the back of the unit. But Philips has avoided this issue and provides ports aplenty. I've tested the ports with thumb drives and with a Logi webcam and they all work well. NOTE: I have the monitor connected to my Mac Mini via HDMI for the picture AND via USB-C to power the USB-A ports and for data transfer. It arrived from the factory with near-perfect settings, requiring only minor adjustment of contrast and brightness. On-screen controls and power are easy to access through five buttons on the bottom-right of the frame.A couple of things you should be aware of:(1) Image on the screen is best viewed while sitting directly in front of the monitor. Viewing at oblique angles, either vertically or horizontally, you will notice considerable fading of the image. But viewed straight-on, color is good and brightness is good.(2) The stand provides vertical and tilt adjustments, but no swivel. That's not a problem for me. But you should be aware in case you need that capability. At the $370 price point, this is a monitor that is hard to beat.

Wonderful monitor, wait for it to go on sale
I have purchased 2 of these monitors at different times. Color and Clarity are very good to excellent. This is not an OLED monitor, nor does the price reflect that. When this goes on sale it is an exceptional bargain. You can connect to it via USB-C (great for laptops or my Mac Studio) HDMI and/or Display Port. It has a 4 port USB hub integrated in as well.I would prefer greater height adjustability than it is capable of, I have mine sitting on top of a package of printer paper to raise it to a height I like. Even with that said, I could not find a better quality and featured monitor for the sale price I purchased it at. Highly recommend.

The 32" model 322E1C does NOT HAVE Speakers!
The descriptions and reviews are very misleading as to which models have built in speakers and the 32" model 322E1C does NOT. However, there are volume controls in the menu and there are speaker vents on the bottom of the monitor. The manual is not clear either. I spent hours troubleshooting my drivers and even my docking station only to find out from Philips Customer Service that there aren't speakers. Alternatively, there is a 3.5mm jack on the back so you can plug in external speakers.Although I am seriously disappointed with the lack of speakers, the clarity of the monitor is great! I purchased two to set up dual monitors and they look great standing together. The 4k resolution was a big jump for me and it is very easy on the eyes and my eyes don't feel fatigued as they did with my old 1080p monitors.Overall, I am pleased with my purchase; however, if I knew they didn't come with built in speakers I would have purchased a different model.
