A great IR camera saddled with lousy user documentation and unresponsive customer support
I've been impressed and pleased with this camera. It's solidly built and works reliably. My only issues are 1: the User Guide (provided as a PDF stored on the internal FLASH that you transfer to a computer for viewing or printing) lacks detail (eg: there are many camera functions that the guide completely ignores), and 2: when I contacted FLIR to ask if more detailed and complete documentation is available I received no reply. (FLIR's website suggests they offer training courses for their products. That's great but it's no substitute for a document I can read at my own pace and use as a reference going forward.)Having the included/downloadable documentation for a technical product in this price range be such a painfully obvious afterthought was as much a surprise as it was a disappointment. So the camera itself is 5-star. The user documentation and customer support is a 1-star (at best).Lastly, I would advise those considering this camera to think about their intended uses. This model lacks any focus adjustment on the IR side and everything closer than about 8 feet is blurry. (There is a diopter adjustment for the viewfinder but that's a completely different issue.) FLIR offers cameras that can be manually focused on close objects but this model cannot.
