Acts like a fuel gauge for the lithium iron phosphate batteries.
I'm using it to monitor a Lithium Iron Phosphate battery but just installed it in my fishing kayak today so can't say how it works. It was easy to wire/install but a little tricky to get the gauges set up to display what you want to see.

Does not work with LiFePO4 batteries
When batteries are fully charged, gauge reads 84%. After a week, drops to 81%. Once it drops to 78%, golf cart shuts down. As many others have reported, extremely difficult to read display even when back-lit.

Works well
I wanted an accurate battery gauge and this was it! Simple 10-bar battery gauge with small difficult to see LCD screen and it has all the options I wanted. The battery % took a couple hours to be accurate. I had to leave the key on while on charge to let it see 100%

Unit with many problems. Don't waste your $
This unit has multiple design flaws.1st. The light meter does not update when batteries are charged. It just keeps showing lower and lower charge. The only way to make it read correctly again is to unplug it or disconnect battery power to start it fresh again. Of course you have to do this every time if you want it to be somewhat right.2nd. I had to put a hole in my dash for this piece of junk. OMG my 31 year old golf cart dash has been messed up for this. It can't be replaced.3rd. The back lite won't stay on.4th. The meter is always showing state of charge even when cart key is in off position.5th. With lithium batteries the surface charge of the batteries will drop off 25% of the shown battery charge in the 1st 5 mins of operation. When actually the batteries are still at full capacity. This unit has many flaws. I tried exchanging the unit for a good one. But the one they sent me does all the same things. Showing this is an inferior product that should not be sold.

10 leds don’t work?
It looks like the led gauge should be displaying the level of the battery, but I can’t get it work.

Did not reset after a battery charge.
Lots of features, however the feature I needed was faulty. I bought this to monitor the batteries in my golf cart. Except for being almost impossible to read at an angle, it seemed to work okay. That is until I recharged my batteries and found the gauge was stuck at the old reading. Should have read the Amazon reviews more carefully, Others mentioned the same issues. I wrote the company. They asked f the reading changed when I disconnected and reconnected the device. So I took apart my dash to try that, and yes, I replied, that worked. The company responded with an offer to replace the unit in exchange for before and after photos, my phone number and address. I declined the offer.

Unit will not stay back-lit even if you figure out the directions.
Product is oversized so that you can never go back to your old standard mount . Good connections require soldering connections on instead of pigtails which would be easier.
