Q: Will the WiFi connect if my tablet is in a shooting house through a glass window at 250yds using a marksman 300?

Mine will. I even placed target holders, ie cardboard backers, in front of tablet/phone and didn't see any reduction in reception. Mine will work on my Android phone at 400 yds. even though they advertise max 300. My tablet loses signal past 350 which still exceeds promised performance. These results are achieved using the shorty tripod included. With a taller tripod, 3-5 ft, the reception is even better by a little bit. You can quantify the signal strength by looking at the signal strength on the wifi section on your smartphone or tablet. Look at your wifi signal strength inside the glass then move outside recheck and see if there is any loss and if so how much. Should show little or no change.

Q: What is the preferred tablet for the system?

I’m not sure if there is a preferred device. I use my iphone down range to adjust the camera on target, then an ipad at the bench to view and mark shots. I have never had any issues using ipad.

Q: If you own this version already how do you upgrade to the 2 Mile version? I don't see the second half for sale.

Targetvision offers an upgrade to the LR3 system for about $450 if your unit isnt damaged. Call them and they can help. You can email them thru their site but my average time getting reply has been 2 days.

Q: how long will this operate before needing to be recharged?

Not sure exactly because I’ve never had it go dead. I’ve run it for several (3-4) hours at a time and I’ve never used up the battery.
