A bit powdery and inconsistent, but fine for the price
I was wary to purchase this wheat bran because other reviews say it’s too powdery. Well, it’s not flaky like other brands i like, but it’s not a fine powder. The consistency is more like coarse powder. I used it in my no bake protein+fiber bars, and it works great for digestion, along with prunes, banana, chia seed, cocoa powder, and nuts I added to my bars.

Fine power
I was happy to find some bran rated for human consumption (as opposed to meal worm bedding) that was a good price. The texture is more similar to flour rather than flakes, but as I add it to my oatmeal in the morning as a fiber supplement the texture was a big improvement for me. I was also pleasantly surprised to find this brand has a nutty flavor, where as the flakey kind I've had in the past I didn't have much taste at all.

Good product, but processed too much. Would rather have larger (unprocessed) flakes than the powder.
The bran is good, but I'm a little disappointed that it's been processed into a pretty fine powder. I much prefer limited processing, resulting in larger flakes of bran (more volume, but results in fluffier texture in baking). Otherwise, seems to be a great product and since my local Sprouts stopped carrying wheat bran in their bulk section (or at all), I'll likely have to purchase through Amazon. :/

Good product
I love bran muffins and I make them all the time, but my local store stopped selling wheat bran in bulk so I had to order it here. The quality of this wheat bran is good, but it is quite expensive.

Bag contents appears to be contaminated
After having bought this product multiple times over the last few years in 6 or 12 lb packages this time the quality appeared off. Upon opening the bag the contents had a smell resembling saw dust and on the inside of the bag there were small treads of what looked like spider silk. Can not return this product per Amazon policy and so far have not received any response from the supplier or Amazon regarding a refund or a replacement 6 lb package assuming this quality problem is a one off.

Not for mealworm bedding
I purchased to use for mealworm bedding, but the bran is too finely ground. Although the description says it is unprocessed, it is near powder in consistency. It is probably great for baking, with consistency of flour.

Good for baking muffins
I make a batch of blueberry bran muffins EVERY week for my husband. He has 2 a day in the car in his way to work. When Sprouts and Smart & Final stopped selling wheat bran in the bulk bins, I was super bummed. I looked at Mother’s Market and Whole Foods, neither of them sold wheat bran either. I found this wheat bran on Amazon. There was one bad review, but I took a chance on it. It is a fine ground product and I’m used to using wheat bran that is a fluffier, corse grind. I was nervous how it would work in my recipe. I just made a batch of muffins after receiving my shipment. The muffins turned out just fine and I’m happy with the result. They are a bit more dense than I’m used to, but the difference isn’t super noticeable to my husband. I would recommend this product if you are using the wheat bran for baking.
