Baxster of California safety razor. Great Prouduct
Great safety razor top notch blows my Parker R90 away. Super smooth shaving and very well built, great chrome and finish work on razor. Best I can tell the razor is manufactured by Muhle in Germany ( no proof of this) and it is the exact same razor as the Muhle R98 razor side by side comparison other than the name on the bottom of the razor, well worth the money.I used a good badger brush a little Poraso sensative skin shave soap lathered up nice along with some good pre face prep followed by a cold water rinse and some Poraso sensative skin after shave. A few lather up's and shave passes with the razor and a Personia blade and all was good, a nice smooth clean shave. I think this razor would be great for a begginer as well as an advanced shaver I give it 5 stars. For a great safety razor that gives agreat solid close shave thats easy on the skin go for this razor. Also it will last a life time the quality, finish and blade fit into the head is great.Bill G

I LOVE THIS THING!
I have very thick, coarse facial hair. I'm always late for work and usually go days without shaving. This time I went a week, by then the hairs were almost a centimeter long. And this razor JUST didn't Clog! I've never had a razor that doesn't do that. With others, if I go a DAY without shaving, they clog after a few strokes. Then I have to clean the thing out with a razor cover. With this razor, I just rinse it under the faucet and it comes out clean. I felt the razor catch on my skin when I made a long stroke or made to too many strikes before rinsing. So it's not necessarily for beginners. But I taught myself how to shave at twelve & at twenty two I still usually cut myself every time. I DID NOT cut myself with this razor. Using this thing is not that difficult. It is very hefty with a screw on head that perfectly locks the blade in place. (I hear with the "butterfly" style razors, you need to be careful not to not put the blade on crooked. If you do you'll cut yourself for sure.)

great razor
So I have done my research another review has said it's inexpensive. It's better for your skin. So let's, be honest. I was a newbie. First time shaving with this my hand was shaking so much you would have thought it was hooked up to a metronome. So the review my wife says my face is BBS after I am done shaving. that's baby butt smooth which is the goal. I use a Scottish fine soap brush and Taylor of old bond street sandalwood shaving cream. I went from a facial scrub, cleansing lotion and shaving cream to get the same closeness of shave. So I researched razors for ever kept coming back to this one. I even found out who makes it Muhle. The razor is not aggressive and that means that the width between the guard and the blade is not huge. Aggressive equals, better chance of cutting yourself. So far after a month 2 nicks no cuts.I would recommend this product. There is a learning curve with the handle it is smaller than expected, however I realize now that's it not size that matters but technique with the razor

I used to buy only Baxter products. Now I will never buy one again. I am embarrassed I ever recommended their products to anyone
Bad product, even worse company. After purchasing this product and using it for a couple months, it broke. It fell from my sink and broke completely. The product is not durable at all. I reached out to the company asking about a return policy. Had they reached back out to me to tell me that there wasn't one, I may have bought a new one. Unfortunately, they promised to get back to me in 48 hours and they never did. I emailed them twice and called them once. I left a voicemail and was completely ignored. I left a review on their site explaining that the product was poorly bad and easily broken, yet they never allowed me to post it. They only let good reviews be posted to their site. Buy from a company that doesn't ignore their customers.

I Vote 'NO' the Second Time Around
The razor is a high quality item and if used correctly probably does give a closer shave than the throw-aways without the slashing danger of a straight razor, thus making a good compromise between the two extremes. However, I am just too lazy and unskillful to learn to use it properly. All it taught me was why I adopted throw-aways in the first place. If you throw the throw-aways soon enough and accept the monetary expenditure, they do fine. This, of course, is a personal choice. Now you must make yours.

Two thumbs up!!!
I have been using this razor for about a week, and I love it. Great product, the finish is fantastic. It's a little bit on the pricey side the only reason for four stars. I'll never use a cartridge razor again. People are complaining about the handle being to short, I'll have to disagree. I have very large hands, and haven't had an issue with the handle length at all. Two thumbsway up .

very good razor
I bought this razor for traveling. Since I'm the ultimate male I use a straight razor at home, but you cannot bring those onto a plane. This is superior in every way to the Schick and Gillette spinning multi-blade, vibrating gel dispensing gimmicky toys people seem to love buying. The blades are heavier, sturdier steel so thy last longer, and each razor has 4 cutting edges. You may not know it, but when you shave one way you're naturally stropping the other way, so when you flip the razor over the new cutting edge is perfect. One blade will last about 3 weeks. The handle never gets tossed out, and if you're using a solid shave soap (the type you whip into a lather) you'll get a really close shave.I can't see why we ever got away from this obviously superior product in favor of throw away plastic.
