I wasn’t sure if buying a battery for my Nextbase Dash Cam was worth the risk but I can confirm that, despite being a fiddly fit, it is now back to it’s new state. Care needs to be taken when dismantling the unit, the 4 screws holding the case together are tiny and easily lost (a small magnet helps to keep them safe) and a further 4 tiny screws holding the motherboard in place are also fiddly. Once the board has been lifted free the battery needs to be carefully levered out of the base, it is held in place by double sided foam tape, and needs a little persuasion to release. My battery came with a tiny plug which I removed and I cut out the old battery which was distinctly pot bellied! Leaving a couple of inches attached to the board, soldering directly to the board is very fiddly so I opted to join the new leads to the tails of the old one using heat shrink tubing to cover the joints, in retrospect I could have made the new battery leads a little shorter, space in the case is limited and folding the leads around to fit it back together proved a little more difficult than I thought, shorter leads would have made it simpler. The overall result was a perfectly working Dash Cam back to original condition. Just a finishing note, you will need a very small watchmakers crosspoint screwdriver to remove the tiny screws.

Took a chance and ordered the battery for my Nextbase 312GW dashcam. Small Philips screwdriver required for the x4 outside screws & x4 which hold down the circuit board, 8 screws in all plus a very small tip soldering iron. Removed the old battery by using a razor to cut the adhesive tape because it is well stuck down, in that way you won't damage anything.Whilst fitting the new battery I didn't bother to stick it down like the original because this one is slightly longer and thicker and I wanted the battery to find its own place within the tight space, being slightly thicker it wasn't going to move. JOB DONE! Works a treat plus the higher mAh rating should allow it to hold a longer charge.

Fits the nextbase 312gw and works but you do have to remove the plug and solder the wires onto the pcb.

Received same day. Battery is slightly different shape but fits fine. Old battery was swollen, a good sign it was on its way out. Had it for several years so it's done well, but recent cold weather showed it can't hold charge, like it used too.Took 4 minutes to replace:- undo 3 T7 screws- unplug battery plug from socket on PCB- Carefully peel battery from case, retain sponge sticky foam, place on new battery and fit- plug in new battery, cable plug perfect fit, correct orientation for positive and negative wires.- ensure waterproof cover in correct place and fit case back together- tighten three T7 screwsPowered on, working, charged for 30 minutes until it showed full, all looks good. Was playing music without problems this morning.Very happy.

Replaced the battery which was not to hard and it worked. Been on three big trips and everything so far excellent keeping it charge for around 7 hours

This battery is a good fit inside the FMH5 unit and initially everything seemed ok. The unit started up, it paired with a phone and another headset. I then left it switched on and paired to see how long it lasted against the other unit. The answer was not long, so I put it on charge thinking it wasn’t fully charged out the box. It now won’t accept a charge and is complete dead. Rubbish product. How do I get a replacement.

I bought this battery to replace the one from my dashcam as it was no longer holding its charge. The battery is 5mm longer than the battery fitted in the Nextbase 312gw but with some careful shoehorning it managed to snugly fit. Be warned though that the battery connector does not fit to the Nextbase dashcam so the wires need to be soldered in place of the old battery connections on the circuit board. A little fiddly but plenty of YouTube videos to guide you doing it correctly. In total took me about 15 minutes from start to finish to complete the job and my dash cam is good as new again.
