No it is not. this is paper thin and you can actually cut right through it. I bought this thinking it was a thicker type but it is not. Not worth the money I would spend a bit more to get a better grade. This is like a thin piece of vinyl and not worth the money

Mine does not have a smell.. Not sure what they are talking about

Unfortunately, it is VERY thin and flimsy. It slides around not being able to give you a straight cut. I do not recommend spending the money.
