Protect me from Maximilian
This is a figure of one of my favorite movie cyborgs. A few things I'd point out to interested parties:They didn't hold back when it came to adding "realistic" paint chipping. Max definitely doesn't look like he just came from the factory. The accessories are spare claws/blades and some plastic electrical arcing with the standout being another head. While it may have been a missed opportunity not making the eye light up, the visor is a nice looking strip of tinted plastic. On the other head you can see Reinhardt's eyes behind it, recreating the scene at the end where he's imprisoned in the armor atop a crag on a hell world. The detailing is best viewed from slightly below eye level on mine.I really like minimal display stand that comes with it. I also got two parts of a diorama which feature some of the great control panels from the Cygnus bridge. If I need to get the other robots to complete it, or if the packaging was missing parts I don't know, but I'm more than satisfied with just the stand.I rated this a good value for the money, which it was when I bought it for $30, but the price jumped up after that.Altogether I'm very pleased.

Fun likeness of a great character
Great likeness but the paint aps seem a little symmetrical. Packaging is flimsy and easily bent and damaged but mine only had some bending in the top left corner. Great accessories over the Walgreens version. Very happy

Great likeness to the Black Hole Character
I was terrified of Maximillian when I was a kid and this makes the Mego one I had look like a puppy dog. Great figure, nice accessories, and I really like the Diamond Select Line, not a whole lot of articulation, but they are solid figures and their packaging makes it cool to display the figures in-package if you choose to do so.

A few flaws don't keep this from being a lovely figure to look at
I bought this at the same time as the Vincent and Bob set, so there's some overlap there since they're meant to go together. As a base model, this is fantastic. Looks really good. Base is very stable. I love the two heads. The attachments are fun, though I have to admit I cannot figure out how to use the lightning yet. However it is done is not intuitive. Because Maximilian is so stiff in the movie, that rings quite true in the figure. And generally I am pleased with it.The issues are in the set piece and very particularly in Maximilian's arms. The set piece is mostly an issue with Vincent and Bob as they have the lion's share of the parts for it. Unfortunately that in itself is an issue. If you only want Maximilian, you are not getting a usable set piece. There's not enough there to use. If you do get both sets there is the additional problem that Maximilian is simply incapable of fitting onto the set piece. There's no attach point on it for him and his own base is right about the same size, possibly bigger than the set piece. So it is only good for the display of Vincent and Bob.Much, much more frustrating is the inability to easily work with Maximilian's arms. They do not rotate easily because there is so little room that the hip joints interfere with the arm mobility. The arms are also not particularly strong. The Arm that came with the open hand attached, bent just a little inside the box so things don't sit precisely straight. It's not terrible but it's noticeable. Worse than that for me is that the joints in the arms aren't terribly strong either. Instead of a straight robotic snap or even just a reliable extension, the arms droop and even fall sometimes. I've found a place that seems balanced and good enough but, again, I can see it. I notice it. It bothers me.I also have to admit I didn't get just how big the base he sits on is. It is quite large and that is going to limit the spaces you can fit him in. Picture him with his arm outstretched and sweep that around into a circle, and that's just barely bigger than his base. Which is slightly sloped so it's not convenient for putting other figures on. Though anything you can drape or put safely on a gently curved surface should be fine if you want to try and overlap other display items with Maximilian. But because Maximilian is such a simple figure, it's good enough, and I'll take it. But I suspect that is also in part because I am comparing it to the Vincent and Bob figure set which I would not apply the term good enough to. Without them it may register different. It's just that in the end, there aren't a lot of choices for Black Hole figures. This could be much worse. It looks fantastic. Truly fantastic. Even just the piece of paper glued inside the second head to show the glaring face is just a beautiful design touch. So I might suggest maybe trying to find it cheaper but, honestly, this is probably worth your money if you want a Maximilian figure. Left alone on display it's very satisfying and I'm happy I bought it.

So Cool!!
If you're an old fella like me and saw this as a kid you remember how cool Max was. It scared me to death when I was little. This movie is still one of my favorites and was super excited to find this figure. It's big and looks super cool. I recommend joining The Black Hole group on facebook. I've seen a lot of collectable stuff there!

Excellent model, less excellent packaging
The clear plastic blister pack was crushed in places so don't expect it to to be museum quality, but Maximilian was in excellent condition as were all of the attachments. The arms are a little loose, so it may be difficult to pose "in action" with the arms raised.

SOLID DISPLAY TOY, JUST NOT EXACTLY AS PICTURED. NO DIORAMA INCLUDED (FAIL)
Figure is solid, paint not as pictured. More a toy than a paint chipped/worn/accurate Max model like they use for the Amazon image. Zero diorama in the box just the loose backdrop, just like so many others are saying. Thats useless. It's a "fine" purchase. I'll keep it as looks good on its own.

Maxillian....be good to the little robot. UPDATED
It's Maximilian, if you know who he was, than you should probably get him. Plenty of extra (including a head with Reinhart's eyes !!!) Great collectors figure..only 2 qualms mine was missing one of the open claws and the box was kinda roughed up a wee bit, since he was going on a shelf with V.I.N.Cent and Old Bob this wasn't a big issue for me...the claw, however was a disappointment at I was initially going to print a diorama of Rineharts doom (the closing scene of the film..this 86d that idea.) UPDATE: I was able to contact Diamond Select and they sent out a claw, so no harm no foul I updated to 5 stars simply because it deserves it.
