Great rack and price, but you don't need a cross bar for womens bike and do NOT follow womens bike mounting directions!
This is a great rack that was really easy for me to install even during a hot day, after a long ride, while my head wasn't all together there. A couple of tips:1. They say to pull the bars so you can move the silver support bars into the holes. I found it way easier to put the rack on its side on the ground and push the bars in so you can move the silver bars into the holes.2. You don't need the optional crossbar to get a woman's bike mounted. I'm short and ride a 16" bike and it fits fine. You may have to do a little pedal positioning, but it beats buying another part you really don't need.3. DO NOT mount the women's bike like they suggest: with one holder rotated to attach to the seat tube, under the top tube! Your bike will probably shift a bit in transit and mine shifted just enough to make it a completely useless method of securing the bike. It didn't stay in the holder at all. I don't care how tightly you strap it in, it will slide a bit- just enough to slide out of the configuration they suggest. Just mount the bike like you normally would- both holders under the top tube. It works fine and is more secure.I didn't find a need for bungee cords to secure the wheels because there's so much extra strap that you can tie it through the wheels to keep them from rotating. This also works for 2 bikes as I usually have my husband's bike on it as well. And we only use this on old cars whose paint I don't really care about, but I see no problem with scratching even if you leave the hooks as-is. The key is to be good at tying down your straps tightly enough so that there isn't extra vibration or so they don't move. And yes, we put my husband's carbon fiber bike on it to drive the 25 miles home. Crashing, torque, and single points of impact are really what you're looking to avoid with carbon fiber. If it can support my husband, it can support itself the short distance home. Not sure I would drive it 500 miles on this rack, but to go home each day, it's fine. This makes a great rack to throw in my mom's car and keep there so she can meet up with us and then drive our sore, tired butts home after a long ride day. :D

Works GREAT… fantastic value
I bought this bike rack for my 2013 Honda CRV (LX). I had gone to the Allen Sports website to verify that it would fit and it seemed like a great value and something that would work perfectly for me. I debated whether to purchase a one or two bike rack as I am the only one that rides, but I ended up opting for the two bike rack hopipng that my spouse would (at some point) become interested in riding as well. I will try to give some tips that will hopefully help you decide if this is a good fit for you, and also some tips on how to best use it:1. Check the Allen Sports website to see if it will fit your particular vehicle. DO NOT take it at face value when reviewers on here say it DOES or DOES NOT fit a certain vehicle. They may not know how to install it, or they may be installing it incorrectly (i.e. unsafely) in order to ‘make’ it work.2. The instructions for mounting the rack are fairly good but you really have to read them closely - ESPECIALLY when it comes to the bottom hook. The top and side hooks are fairly logical and self-explanatory… although make sure you use the correct hooks for top and side. The top hooks are bigger/wider than the side hooks, and the side hooks are also labeled.3. KEY for certain vehicles - this is the issue that ALMOST made me think that this wouldn’t work for me (even though Allen Sports said it would). The bottom hook has several ways to be utilized, depending on your vehicle. The main issue is whether you have something metal to clip the hook to. Today many bumpers, and even the bottom of cargo doors are a hardened plastic, OR they have no ‘lip’ over which to clip the hook. This was the case for me… and even though I read the alternate ways to solidly connect the bottom hook, it wasn’t apparent to me at first. Ultimately, you don’t really connect that bottom hook TO anything, but instead open the trunk/cargo door slightly and put the hook inside and close the trunk/cargo door back, which secures the hook inside the vehicle and you just tighten the strap.4. Depending on your car, and on your risk tolerance, you may want to consider using electrical tape around the hooks (some or all, depending on your vehicle) to help cushion and protect any paint. Since my vehicle is a 2013 it wasn’t an issue I was particularly concerned with but I did go ahead and opt to do it - figured it was easy to do and certainly wouldn’t hurt anything by doing it.5. Definitely do something to secure the tires, to keep them from spinning, and inthe case of the front tire, to keep it from swiveling and hitting the vehicle. You can use the excess on the tie down straps, or just use a bungee cord. The rack works perfectly on my Honda CRV and is actually even more steady/firm than I was expecting. Overall I could not be more pleased and am ready to hit the road!

Works good, but it’s a little tight for 2 mtb
Perfect for a single bike. Relatively quick setup. If you’re not careful though when taking 2 mtb’s you will scratch your outer forks and brakes\levers. I recommend covering your fork and brakes/levers with a clean microfiber and Velcro strap before loading 2nd bike to minimize scratching. It’s a pretty tight fit with 2 mtb but overall it’s a secure system, was going 80mph down the freeway with 2 mtb’s and it held up. Fits easy in a sedans trunk when it’s not being used. Would definitely recommend for shorter trips, and for the price it’s a good product. 👍🏻

Great product
Fits the back of my dodge dart perfectly, I love this thing! I’ve had it for over a year now and it’s been great to me. My favorite part about it is how fast you can put it on the car and take it off. It takes me about 20 seconds to take it off and about 2-3 minutes to set it back up on the trunk.

Easy install with two people. Very stable on 2hr drive
Was easy to install. I installed with another person. Held my bike well as I transported it two hours away. No wiggling or wobbling on the highway. Fit my 2016 Chevy Malibu and I’ve seen it be compatible with many other cars. I see this bike rack a lot where I live on others cars.Only thing is that the part that holds the bike is flat and the middle part of my bike is not flat it is angled so I had to move the bike on the rack forward so it’d have somewhere to rest in the clamps. Despite not being a perfect fit it still held my bike well. We also tied the reminding strap on the front tire to stop it from hitting my car or moving around
