Well-Made Clippers But Needs to be Sharper
I bought these professional toenail clippers so that I could cut my thick great toe toenails that an ordinary clipper could not. They are sturdy enough and easy to lock and unlock when you remove them from the carrier pouch. However, it was a bit of a struggle in terms of cutting my nails because the blade edges did not seem sharp enough. These are manufactured in Solingen, Germany which is world-famous over decades for stainless steel cutlery and so I expected that the clipper blade would be sharper, instead they seemed a bit dull. Fortunately I have strong hand strength and so I was able to get the job done although someone with weaker hands would have really struggled to cut any thick nails. I would still prefer these German-made clippers over the numerous 'Made in China' offerings that are cheaply made with a price $20-30 less and which are made in a country that behaves poorly on human rights and public health transparency.

German Craftsmanship???
Safety clasp appears to be short by a mm or 1.5mm. The clippers arrived within 48 hours. Had major issues in releasing the safety clip, almost needed a hammer. Has issues with clipping dry thick toe nails. Have even bigger issues with closing the safety clip.Ratings:Sturdiness gave it a 2. Since it needs to be for the force to open clippers, cut thick toe nails and attempt to close it. Have no idea how long that they will last.Everything else one star.So sad for the state of German Craftsmanship, Craftsmanship, Not anymore, Running on previous Quality and Craftsmanship. New generation of employees, Quality Control? Have no idea what is being looked at. Who knows, maybe product came from China, stamped in Germany. Have no idea.Would NOT recommend this product, CS-13.Amazon shipping, Received package within two days, so that is 5 stars.

Great for home use
I'm a professional nail tech and love these types of nail nippers for thick, unruly toenails. I loved the ones I used at work and wanted to get my own for at home, but didn't know what brand the ones at work were. These are not it. I'm not really use how to explain it, but the joints just aren't manufactured as well. However, as a professional I have much higher expectations for my tools, and maybe shouldn't have expected something from Amazon to be as sturdy as professional grade tools. The slight issues I'm having would probably not be noticable by anyone else, and they certainly do an excellent job of trimming toenails. I would definitely recommend them for home use, when you aren't using them multiple times a day.Fun fact: To unlock them, squeeze the handles together and the hook at the bottom should pop open. It took me forever to figure that out the first time I tried this style of toenail nippers!

Rapid delivery, 5.5in strong toenail clippers. Amazon Replacement rapid but item defective.
ITEM: Camila Solingen CS13 Large Heavy Duty Toe Nail Clipper for Thick Toenails, Manicure & Pedicure, Double Barrel Spring. Super Sharp Trimmer Curved Stainless Steel 20mm Blade Made in Solingen, GermanyPros: Item is roughly 5.5 in as described; the handle and blade lengths provide more leverage than shorter toenail clippers. I have a much shorter, cheap, but very nice, Amazon clipper from China, but that one is not big/strong enough to clip thick toenails. Some reviewers reported trouble with the handle lock. The handle lock has its own spring and does work when the sniper is closed and the handles squeezed together.Cons: I am awaiting a replacement for the one I received, examined, and returned unused. The description does not match the item that I received, and the received item is defective. I'm looking forward to updating this review when the Replacement arrives.I examined the blades when they were both opened and closed. The description clearly shows the points meeting and that the rest of the blade edges do not and also describes that configuration as necessary for a "scissoring" action. The item I received does not match that description because the points do not meet, and the rest of the blades meet entirely. In my experience, toenail (and fingernail) clipper blades must have pointed tips that meet; my small clipper's blades match those blade configurations which are described for this item, so this item's description appears to be a standard design. As a very minor point, the snapped tip protector is too short and made of material which is unlikely to resist the tip's pressure for long. I suggest that users replace the protector with a cardboard/soft-plastic box to hold the clipper.REPLACEMENT:Pros: Received the Amazon replacement for this item within 24 hr. The replacement's tips match, and the Safety catch is somewhat easier to opperate than the item in the original shipment.Cons: Blade edges and tips Not sharp at all, therefore replacement clipper is defective.Minor point: tip protector even shorter.Returning this replacement item to Amazon via free UPS Store.I will look for a different, Amazon, 5.5 inch, heavy duty, sharp, pointed, toenail clipper.

A tool I hope to keep for life
I LOVE this clipper, which I've been using for a couple of months now. My nails have *never* looked better, and they grow out so well. I'll never go back to the other, more usual type of nail clipper.Know that, here on Amazon, I had bought a similar (pliers style) Konovo nail clipper, which broke immediately on the first use (the very first clip, in fact), and the smart-looking metal case arrived with a dent in it. Harrumph. I returned the broken Konovo clipper and bought the FERYES Clipper ("Heavy Duty 4R13 Stainless Steel") and THAT one broke on the first use -- the same part as the failed Konovo! Doesn't say anywhere online, but upon receipt of the FERYES, I saw that this brand, too, is Made in China...just an observation. I decided to break the pattern by looking for German-engineered clippers, and I was able to find this most satisfactory alternative, a tool I'll keep using for life (Zeus willing).
