Good for 2 gallon bowl with plants
I can’t imagine that this would offer any substantial filtration for anyone with a fish tank. If you’re looking at this for your fish, the right solution is to get a bigger tank. Whatever this would go into is too small for any fish. It is great for moving the water in my planted bowl.

So far so good
The media could not be loaded. I just got my little sponge filter. The box says up to 10 gallons aquarium, idk about that. It has small media, so I’m not sure if that’s okay for a bigger tank. But I will test it out eventually. At this moment, everything is flowing smoothly. I have a valve that helps me lower the airflow, therefore, it’s soft for my betta. This is a 2 gallon tank at the moment, I am planning to move my betta to a 5 gallon tank, I will use this filter to test it out. Other than that, everything is going smooth. I will edit (if I remember) later on as the weeks pass.

Great little sponge
The first one of these arrived without the clear tube, but I got it replaced without issue. It’s so tiny and seems to be safer for my baby shrimp than my corner box filter. You don’t need anything crazy for a small aquarium, and it’s nice there’s finally an appropriate sized option. Super love this item and will but again if I get another small aquarium!

Nicely Nano
My daughter purchased a betta & a 3 gallon rimless aquarium for her dorm room. Since a betta requires a low flow filter, we went with a nano air pump from Aquarium Co-op and this filter. It fits perfectly in a 3 gallon rimless cube tank. The size is really perfect. I like the extra media in the bottom. The sponge could be more course for better flow, but it works just fine. The bubbles produced are larger than with an air stone but are satisfactory and not noisy. Some reviews say the filter floats, it does not. Just squeeze the sponge once it's underwater and it drops right to the bottom. Definitely recommend for a nano tank.

Perfect for my 5 Gallon
I have a 5.5 Gallon Aqueon tank that houses Amano Shrimp and a Tiger Nerite Snail. The snail loves to sleep in the corners where the bubbles flow and the shrimp love picking off stuff from the sponges. I have two in the tank due to I needed a second one for it's compartment to help with an ammonia issue I was having, now that I've taken care of that, the second filter will be used to seed future tanks. The compartment is probably my favorite part of this sponge filter. Not only does the sponge hold the beneficial bacteria, the compartment can hold small filter medium for additional BB storage. That or if you're having an ammonia spike, add Zeolite to it to help with that.My only issue with this sponge filter, with out a two sided suction cup, the filter doesn't seem to want to stay put, even with small pebbles/zeolite in the compartment.

Adding this to the aquarium cleared up water real fast

Great little sponge filter
It's hard to find sponge filters for smaller tanks since a smaller sponge means less filtration which is the intention here. It's not that large sponge filters won't work in a 5 gallon fish tank but that they'll be intrusive, taking up valuable space for plants, fish, and invertebrates. In this case, this sponge filter fits the bill for nano fish tanks. It does need to be saturated with water for it to sink, though, so be sure to squeeze the sponge as you put it in your tank. Otherwise, it's easy to clean and use.

Floats and too big. Yellow water.
Made water yellow and it floats. Too big for small tanks.
