GullorLuxury Fountain Pen Jinhao Chinese Dragon/Loong Bronze Basso-relievo Medium Nib

First time buyer of fountain pens and I must say that this has been the best experience I have ever had. The pen arrived early and I couldn't wait to get to writing with it. The weight of the pen is nothing shy of amazing. It's pretty hefty. The minute I put ink in the cartridge it flowed out of the nib so smoothly, I have had no problems with leaking or blotting especially since I don't fill it up all the way. The pen writes flawlessly. The design is amazing and everything is still entact on it (the jewels in the eyes haven't fallen out). Overall it is the one of the better buys I have ever had. It's really a bang for your buck. I even ordered two other kinds of jinhao pens that are soon to arrive and I cannot wait to try those out either. If you want a good quality fountain pen this pen delivers it. Take care of it and you will never have to write with another pen again.

Firstly, I thank the seller for providing such an amazing price for such a wonderful fountain pen! I paid $8.99, which is AMAZING because everywhere else it's usually $15-20+ and the free shipping just made it even better, so this Merchant has a new loyal customer. The pen is one of the best Jinhao fountain pens i have now & definitely one of my favorites! The pictures don't do it justice because the detail is stellar in person. The top of the cap has a whimsical landscape on it in a bubble cap that I didn't even know it had. The dragon is so awesome with it's red gem eyes glistening. The nib writes perfect and I highly recommend!

It came packaged in a envelope, no padding and nothing to protect it from rough handling. I filled it with Waterman Brown Ink and started writing, then all of a sudden a big ole blob of ink spills out onto the paper. I cleaned it and again tested it, it seems if you "overfill" the screw type converter provided higher than a given amount it simply dumps it onto your paper, not good at all, but once the "proper" level was figured out (about 2/3 of the converter level) the pen performed fine. This pen is quite beautiful and hefty for such a cheap price with the detail work nicely done too. I think the reason the red eyes come loose or get lost, as I have read in other reviews, is that this is the general area you would grip the pen at when unscrewing the body to service the converter or to unscrew the cap off the pen. The cap is a little loose when you go to screw it down over the nib but tightens up fine. The cap is slightly less loss when you screw it down onto the post end, but once again tightens down fine. I feel overall this is a really good buy for ten bucks, you could do a lot worse.

Great in almost every respect -- except one. Writes great! Looks great! Feels great! Love the dragon design! The one flaw is that the cap over the refill converter keppt falling off. I had to resport to applying super glue and letting it settle before inserting it on the pen. This could and should be remedied by the manufacturer. It compromises an otherwise great pen.,

While several of the reviews did comment that the pen arrived damaged, while only modestly packed, my pen did arrive in pristine condition. The cap is small enough to fasten (threaded) onto the back of the pen when open and not change the balance. I typically never write with pen cap mounted, but this will be an exception. As a standard precaution, I always thoroughly clean each new pen with cleaning vinegar before use, so I have not had the ink flow issue others have reported. Inexpensive pens are apparently not pre-flushed before shipping. Often, very fine particles left over from the manufacturing process are still in the nib section and can interfere with ink flow if not properly flushed out. While I would have preferred a longer smooth nib section to facilitate finger placement, the sculpture is designed well enough not to make writing uncomfortable. The sculpture itself is well done and the added jewels for the dragon's eyes are tasteful rather than gaudy.

The first day, it wrote beautifully. Then it stopped writing. I am not sure how to clean a nib on a founain pen. Guess that will be my next stop. It is really beautiful tho and really heavy. Just doesnt work well.

Pen arrived quite a bit earlier than I was expecting it. It is awesome! Heavier than I usually use, but I love the dragon detail and the nib is functional enough to enjoy writing with the pen.Pen is very nicely constructed and the detail is clear and bright.I'd say that the nib is a bit "wet" out of the box, but a bit of nib adjustment should take care of that easily.Overall, I'd say five stars are warranted. Shipping was lightning fast!
