Easy to figure out -- I just watched one of the reviewer's videos here for a few seconds and it was clear. Really keeps odors from escaping. No more daily trips to the outside trash bins -- a life changer! The poo does smell when you open the pail (naturally). To mitigate that, whenever I scoop the litterbox, I scoop the poo into a supermarket size plastic bag, put 1/3 cup of cat litter onto it to soak up the smell, tie a knot, and throw it into the pail which is lined with a bag. When it's time to empty the trash in a few days, I take out the liner bag, tie it up and toss it with the bags of poo in it. Not necessary to do this, because the pail keeps the odors contained. It's just for whenever you open the pail, if you have a delicate nose like mine. The charcoal filter helps, too. The pail is square and nice looking, doesn't take up a lot of space.

Once of the worst things about cleaning the litter box is disposing of the scooped litter. Not only does it smell, but any kind of recycled bucket with a lid (i.e. empty plastic kitty litter tub) still manages to smell through the closed lid as well as look ugly; leading me to either stash it outside the back door (how lovely looking) or stink up the laundry room (ugh!). And while I can take the scooped waste directly out to the garbage can during the day; after dark that ain't happening... no outside street lighting, lots of trees, and the trash shed is on the side of the house where potential bears have been known to lurk at at least one neighbor's house... so, I decided to give the PetFusion Portable Cat Litter Disposal bucket a try after first checking out and nixing other litter disposal systems and I have to say that this thing does everything it purports to do, in spades.With the handle up, the smell is so completely hermetically sealed inside, that I don't have to worry about where I store it. It also looks nice and sleek enough to store in my computer office, is easy to clean, and with the handle is easy to tote to wherever the box is. It's also extremely well built and not at all cheaply made or cheap looking.The best part? No more lugging heavy bags of litter waste outside, worrying that they might leak litter or break open on the carpet, due to the included removable inner container with built-in handles that can be taken back and forth to the garbage. And, after the bags that came with it were used up, I'm also able to take the plastic Safeway grocery bags, lock the handles in place with the built in clips and then push the unhandled sides into the little bag hole thing-ys (like on a Swiffer), making the bag nice and stable (no sagging).There is also a little replaceable charcoal mesh bag inside a holder in the lid to help keep odors inside the container down when you open it. However since I put the litter waste into misc individual plastic bags that come through the house; that also helps to keep odors inside at bay as well (and as I said, NO odors escape this Litter Containment, EVER). It's also deep enough that I can store the large sized litter scoop inside, thereby solving the solution of where to store the nasty thing without contaminating a cupboard or having to look at it.After several months of use, I'm still extremely pleased with PetFusion Portable Cat Litter Disposal bucket and have no complaints.

The media could not be loaded. This is by far, the BEST litter stoage/disposal system I have ever used! I have seven furbabies and I clean their litter box 2 or 3 times a day. I've tried the "others" and they're awful!This is sturdy, heavy duty, portable, doesn't tip over when the inner can is inside. Contains all odors/smells. Uses any bags that can fit inside! Comes with several heavy duty bags (I use as a protective liner in case my bag has a hole, you can see the green bag in the photos, that is theirs.)The only thing I can see as a possible potential problem, is only having one hinge on the lid instead of two. But please don't let that stop you from purchasing this! It's worth the price just for its ability to use any bag! And as you can see from the photos, it can hold a lot of poo!I recommend using 8 gallon bags, and if you use the thin ones, double up! I use a heavier duty 8 gallon drawstring bag. Makes it easier to tie off and secure for removal. You can also remove the inner can to carry to your rubbish bin/trash. The bags they provide stretch very well and make a great outter catch liner.This is the easiest to use litter disposal container that I have ever seen/used. I highly recommend purchasing this, and it would make a fantastic gift to any Kitty parent!*The photos next to the litter are for size comparison.

Overall, I like this product. I've always used Litter Genie and hated the bag system for it. They're expensive and don't last very long! In my opinion, the best feature of this container is the fact that you can use your own bag. You save a ton of money by being able to purchase whatever you want! When it's closed and sealed, it does a great job of containing the odor. I've been using this for about 3 months and have never smelled anything outside of the container. When the container is open, the smell is pretty powerful. I don't feel the charcoal inserts help or reduce odor whatsoever, and I will not purchase those again. Moisture also accumulates around the seal, which I don't love, but you only encounter when emptying the container. When I empty, I always use a sanitizing wipe on the edges where the moisture was and I also wipe down the entire inside. I leave the container in my garage for the day to air out. I do feel the plastic does absorb some of the odor, and I feel leaving it to air out helps. I do think this will probably have to be replaced more often than a Litter Genie because of that fact, the odor absorbed will become overpowering with time (but maybe I'm wrong!). I have 2 small cats, and I change the bag once a week. Changing the bag is very easy. There are clips on 2 sides to secure it. Overall, I like this container to dispose of kitty waste! It's easy to use and more convenient than other options. I would purchase this again.
