I have both Adams and Esselte versions. While admittedly not a fine as Esselte, the price difference, IMHO, is not worth it. I've now purchased many of these Adams books.

I have been using these types of journals in my day to day business life for years. It has always troubled me that these high quality record books were so darn expensive. For example prior to buying the Adams Record Ledger at Amazon I paid $42.99 for basically the identical item at Staples. Staples® Black Record Book, 10-7/16" x 8-3/8"--Item: 217695 Model: 18658- In addition the Adams record book has a cool little built in book mark which the staples brand does not have. - At the time of this review the Adams book was $17.47 with free shipping. Highly recommended its a great buy !

For when you need to maintain accurate records of your research, this is the notebook. The pages feature a green tint that is (a) easy on the eyes, and (b) fades when you erase something in order to prove the text is unaltered. It takes pencil or ballpoint pen well. Each page is sequentially numbered to show that no pages are missing. It has a ribbon for marking your place. The cover and spine have proven durable with lots of abuse in a backpack. Highly recommended. Especially at Amazon prices versus the full price office supply chains.
