These are NOT the hard rubber Ace combs you used to be able to buy
These combs work OK while they last.The ideal substance to make such a comb is hard rubber. No such luck.As a result , the hard, brittle plastic can hurt the top of your head, and the teeth of the comb soon begin to fall out. They are not much like the original Ace hard rubber combs I could buy until maybe 20 years ago, except in external appearance.

Nostalgic comb
Wishing Ace could go back to the days of making this comb of hard rubber rather than the fragile plastic that is now used. I continue to buy them as they are the right size and the tines are a good thickness and spacing for my hair. But the tines are a bit sharper, sometimes scratching the scalp, and definitely far more brittle than the original model. Sometimes they only last a few weeks in my back pocket before the tines start breaking off.

Better than some pocket combs.
I've been using this model of ACE comb for half a century and they're the best combs I can find to put in my jeans back pocket, but they are distinctly inferior to the ones from 30 years ago that virtually never broke or lost their shape. I actually still have one that's decades old and nearly perfect!
