36W Outdoor Waterproof Low Voltage Landscape LED Power Supply Converter/Rectifier, Input 12V AC to Output 12V DC (Does Not Work with RGB LED Strips)

Works as advertised. I converted my solar string light to garden low voltage and lights started dying. Added this rectifier and all lights came back on

I've had two of these in an outdoor led installation for a while. And both sets of lights have always acted in ways they should not have.Last week I took a look at the output from this unit on a scope. It's not really an AC/DC converter. While your multimeter might show it's output as DC. It's actually the same 60hz sine wave biased on a 5 volt DC signal.Think of it as always positive AC that averages out to 5 volts.It might work perfectly for some uses but for my color changing LED's it caused problems. Today I put in different units that actually output DC and all the past problems disappeared immediately.

I am very impressed that I can add LED strip lights to my existing low voltage landscape lighting with this device so they turn on and off with the photo cell. Great product!

I connected this to 12V lighting that required a 110 plug. It worked great connecting it directly to my landscaping lighting transformer. I plan to get another one when I re-design our front yard.

I am using the Peak railing from Home Depot and they have an RGB light kit and rail kit. I did not want all the colors of an RGB kit nor did I have direct access to 110v and really didn’t want my elderly mom having to use an app on her phone to configure it. So I went with simple 16.4 12v DC lights in a strip and used the Peak railing strip holders. They can be mounted on the outside or inside and I wanted them on the outside for more indirect lighting while on the deck. I had to make some changes due to the irregular shape of the deck, but it all turned out great. Couldn’t have done it without these EXCELLENT converters to change my landscape 12v AC to DC. Would have liked the leads to be a slightly larger gauge, but it all works well.

I was very skeptical about this product. I ordered 5 of them and they all work fine. I still need to let it run for a longer period of time but it does the job and makes life easy. It allows you to use 12V DC lights on your low voltage AC Landscape light wires. I am going to get more of these as I put more landscape lights. Check out 12V DC landscape lights they are far cheaper than regular low voltage LED lights.Now I have all five of these rectifiers running everyday since june, typically 50 to 60Watts load on each and they are doing just fine. This is obviously not a full wave rectifier that converts AC voltage into DC. As with another product reviewer, I found that the output is some odd modified AC signal. If you have something you are powering that doesn’t care much about its DC power it might work. In my case, I had some devices that provide a PWM DC signal to create a flicker effect for dimmable LED lights. In my particular case, it did not work at all.

We had a deck built this summer and I wanted to tie some LED lighting for the stairs and benches into our existing low voltage landscape lighting. Only problem was that the deck lighting my contractor was installing required direct current and the transformer I was going to use only supplied alternating current. So I searched and found this fantastic solution! The part arrived on time and ready to be installed and it worked exactly as described. I am so glad I found this seller and this landscape lighting part as it simply works like a charm. The deck lights have been running for over 3 months now without issue using this converter.
