Nice sand with a nice look. I ordered two bags for a Innovative marine 25 gallon lagoon I can turn my Nero 3 pump up to 100% with no effect on sand very pleased with this.

Still looks good and has been perfect, liking much better than smaller grains for a reef tank.

Delivered very fast, fish love it better than I expected, my tank has never been so clear. Once the initial dust cloud cleared & filter changed. First time using sand in aquarium… will never go back to gravel.

I prefer the Special Grade size. I tried a smaller grain and it blew all over the tank. This stays put on the floor of the aquarium for the most part unless your power heads create too much of a current. Delivery was a bit slow.

Caribsea is the leader in substrate for saltwater aquaria. This is a great grain size for the most common type of reef tank setup; for when you want a thinner 1" sand bed that doesn't have grains that blow around in high flow (like oolitic or sugar sand). This grain size is also ideal when siphoning the detritus out of a sand bed is a requirement of your maintenance routine. It clears quickly in an established tank (unlike 2-3 days for sugar sand) and corals, fish and inverts have no problems with it. It's only drawback is that it can't be used for deep sand bed denitrification. It's too large/porous for that and you should employ either a gravel vac approach or adding sand sifting inverts such as sea cukes, sand sifter starfish and/or nassarius snails to your tank when choosing it. Aside from that, my mileage with new tank syndrome is greatly reduced when using CaribSea's live sand products and this is a great all purpose grain size.
