A Great Pen - Very Easy To Use
This was my first time using a dip pen and I love it. This one is very easy to use. It writes smoothly. The inks are all very nice, but I don't see much glitter in them even though I would shake the bottle each time. If you want to get into using dip pens and don't have many inks, you should buy this set.

Nice starter set of inks (4 colors) with glass dip pen and "stand"
It was nice to learn to use a dip pen and try out the colors. The inks in the description show a gold metallic sheen. In person, the ink put down with the dip pen is too small (font or width wise) to see any metallic sheen. When swatched, only one showed up.PHOTO of 4 triangular swatches on one page.IF the inks settle and must be shaken to show the metallics, then this is a problem. I purposely shook them up and quickly opened and swatched them. One color reflected the metallic and I can't be sure which order that swatch was done.See PHOTO - handwriting page of four colors:I tested each ink by writing until the ink "ran out" from a single dip. I believe the amount of writing is affected by the user's amount of dip).I searched on line "how to use a glass dip pen" and followed the simple instructions. This kit included a small red sealed envelope (2" square) that held 2 cellophane gloves. While watching the video in the advertisement, I noticed the person used a piece of paper towel to open the ink bottles. This was a great idea. This protected my hands when removing the rubber stopper that was below the metal screw on lid. When using this method on each ink, I didn't have any staining on my hands.***Use kitchen gloves to protect your hands, AND use a paper towel to open and close the bottles which have a stopper top under the metal screw-on cap. ***The ink is water soluble. To clean the dip pen simply swish it in water until clean. Use some paper town or a soft cloth to dry it. I noticed online that some inks may require the use of a soft brush (toothbrush) to clean the ink residue. In my experience of "swatching" the four inks, the water was sufficient to remove all the ink residue.***On my glass pen, I felt that one angle of the pen was not as smooth as the other angles. Online, I found ideas about the simple way to smooth any slight imperfections. So far, just using the pen on that angle in a circular fashion on a dry piece of paper has lessened the friction I felt in the beginning. I haven't tried any more drastic steps.I'm glad I got a complete set to try out the product. Its a nice set and the colors are pretty. However, my reason for purchasing was to add details to the end of my watercolor paintings. Becuase of the small - fine point on this dip pen, I do not think this will work. These specific inks appear sheer, rather than opaque and shiny... which is not what I expected based on the advertisement. I read many product advertisements and deliberated on the set to buy.To make the swatches, I used a small round paint brush and laid down a swatch of ink on multimedia paper. I wasn't pleased with the outcome, so I also tried with 100% cotton watercolor paper. The sheen from the metallic product showed up on the royal blue ink. I saw flecks in the dried swatches, but nothing that is truly noticable.I give this set a 4.5 stars, for these reasons:- fine point pen without the ability to enlarge it (ie: by adding pressure, etc). (I see other sets provided multiple size pens. I could have chosen other sets. I see the value in the other size pens now.)- rough spot in this specific glass pen. The pen is the main item. It should have been perfected first.- lack of metallic gold in my swatches or the sample writing.I won't purchase this again, because it didn't meet my specific needs.

I love this pen!
I love quality-made functional art, which is what your pen most certainly is. It is beautiful to look at, comfortable to hold, and the crafting, (the actual physics involved in the design of the tip), allows for a surprisingly large volume of ink to be held in the glass spirals...ink that is then released onto the paper in a smooth and even flow during use. There are no drips or splatters, and the tip is easy to clean. Packaging seemed to be almost lovingly done by your company. The extra items that are included with the product show attention to details involved with using a pen of this type.I am both scientifically exacting, as well as artistically expressive, and using this pen makes both of those aspects of myself very happy!I highly recommend your pen!

Nice quality
I purchased the glass pen set as a Christmas gift for someone who loves to draw. I saw different reviews that this is a great instrument, glass pens, to use for drawing because it flows nicely. I can't testify to that since it's a Christmas gift and I haven't used it however I did open it to make sure nothing was broken or that the ink didn't leak. Everything in this package is beautiful! The glass pen is stunning and the inks are very pretty; the gold flecks in the ink is very prominent. I was so impressed by the quality and the box it comes in that I purchased one more for another artist.

First Time Using a Glass Dip Pen and Impressed!
This is a really nice gift set or user set. Comes with four inks: blue, purple, pink/red and black. A place holder for your pen, a small glass cup to use with water to rinse your pen between colors, a dropper to drop ink on the tip if you don't want to dip. I tried both ways and both work. So real easy to use.I dip and swirl in the ink and I could use it for quite a bit of writing. I first used cold pressed watercolor paper and it was a bit rough for my liking and it used a lot of ink so had to dip more often. Then used hot pressed watercolor paper and it worked well on that paper. Hot pressed is a smooth paper, so any smooth paper will work well such as a mixed media or sketchbook. I also tried liquid watercolor: Cyan, magenta and yellow. The yellow was a bit too thick for the pen. I also have some fountain pen ink: Hongdian and Iroshizuku ink. Both worked really well, as did the 4 inks included in the kit. This is a long nib. I just ordered a different glass pen with a different shaped nib just to see if there is any difference. Overall a great set!
