Simple Deluxe Ceramic Heat Emitter Bulb - Perfect for Reptiles
I was concerned about the potential impact of a red heating light on my bearded dragon's eyesight, so a friend recommended the Simple Deluxe ceramic heat emitter bulb. I must say, it has been a great choice so far. This bulb effectively maintains the temperatures in my reptile terrarium, especially during the night, and my baby beardy is thriving. The package includes a convenient 2-pack of 150W ceramic heat lamps. The bulb's design ensures that the lamp surface temperature remains high for optimal heating, so it's important to avoid direct contact during operation. Additionally, it is recommended to allow the bulb to cool for at least an hour before removing it from the fixture to prevent any accidental burns.Safety is paramount when using heat emitters, and this product provides clear guidelines to ensure proper usage. It is crucial to use the bulb in a suitable environment, avoiding damp conditions. Adjusting the distance between the lamp and your pets is essential, with a minimum of 35cm recommended. Furthermore, it is important to keep the bulb away from combustible or explosive materials to avoid any potential hazards.Overall, the Simple Deluxe ceramic heat emitter bulb has proven to be a reliable and effective solution for maintaining the ideal temperatures in my reptile terrarium. I appreciate the thoughtful packaging with the 2-pack option, providing convenience and value for money. With its clear safety instructions and consistent performance, this product has earned my trust and recommendation.

Good long lasting bulbs. Keep your critters temp right, won't shatter if you hit them with mist.
I prefer these bulbs to regular "light" heat lamp bulbs ESPECIALLY with a Flukers dimmable lamp because combined they give you the ability to adjust the temperature to your pets comfort level quickly and easily day or night. It also saves money as the ceramic bulbs last much longer AND don't explode possibly sending shards of glass into your critters cage IF you have a critter that you mist with a spray bottle or system and you/it accidentally sprays the bulb with some of the water. Also you can save money buying lower wattage daylight bulbs being the higher the wattage the more expensive and they usually need replacing every few months for the true UVA UVB to be most effective anyway. Don't get me wrong some critters need the higher intensity light bulb or you have a tall cage and need it to provide the correct light wave at the base from up top either way you can still use these ceramic bulbs for cold weather or if like me you like your home in the 72-74° range and a heat light itself isn't enough to get your critter to the temperature they need.I usually have 2-3 dimmable lamps on each of my cages (more depending on the size). Sometimes I'll add a heat pad also depending on the critter.Normally I'll have one of these ceramic bulbs in one lamp for basking a daylight bulb in the other and a red or black bulb in the other for night as face it having a very bright high wattage basking light on if your trying to take a nap during the day or a bright red or black light at night can be a pain, being able to dim either "light bulb" and adjust the ceramic bulb makes it much better. If you already have a lamp and it isn't a dimmer type you can easily add a dimmer switch and get the same effect although for the money you'll spend on a lamp and dimmer you could save money just buying the dimmable Flukers lamp.I suggest the Flukers lamps due to the fact it has a ceramic socket (not the usual plastic socket and lightweight housing like the ones at Home Depot, Wal-Mart etc.) with a heavy gauge metal housing and highly reflective coating. If you're using a daylight bulb to raise crickets, roaches, etc. or as a heat source for baby birds or other baby animals that don't need a true daylight bulb to live or breed these bulbs are best even if just for the longevity and fact that your breeding room, closet, whatever looks like you have the Arc of the Covenant inside! Finally I've found these bulbs are great for keeping food hot if you like to entertain and you have a back-up bulb and lamp or it's night and your critter doesn't need the heat lamp you can use it for that without the usual red heat lamps you'll see at a buffet and again their less money especially against the red buffet bulbs.

Works Great
I have 4 outdoor tortoise insulated houses and all are heated with this bulb. The houses are each a 4 foot cube and I have one heat lamp in each. This bulb provides enough heat to keep the inside temp at least 20 degrees above the outside temp. The bulb lasts a long time. I made this current purchase thinking the bulbs from last year were probably ready to be replaced, but they are still going strong. They ran last year, 24/7 for at least 5 months, and now they've been on constantly for the past month. I doubt I'll every use anything other than these bulbs (in an appropriate lamp) ever again.Make sure you are using a lamp/dome with a ceramic base that is specifically for heat lamps. Keep it AWAY from your pet. It gets very, very hot.

It puts out heat a little
I won't give this a higher rating until I determine how long it will last in use. It came with 2 heater devices, only 1 of them had a large chip out of it. But, it still worked and was mostly cosmetic. Packing to ship in better materials are advised. It took about 10 minutes before it heated up enough to actually feel some heat coming from it. I put it in a small doghouse to keep her warm in the cold nights the US just went thru and, so far she's fine, warm and happy with the 1 being used. And this was down to 11 degrees with a 20mph wind out of the north, and her house MUST face north to see our driveway for boogers...lol. It remains to be seen how long it will officially last before it goes out, but so far 28 hours down and it was still warming her house when I came inside just now to write this review. If it lasts the whole 5 days we're going to have severe cold weather then I'll raise the rating because it would have done, at the least it's worth.

Works great
I use it for odd purpose. We have chicken farm and waterers freeze when cold. So I dug hole in the dirt, covered it with brake rotor and set light bulb inside. When light turns on, produces heat, and waterer, on top of caliper, does not freeze. Except that bulbs don't last long in the cold dirt. This thing here is ceramic, and literally acts like an oven under the rotor. As of the use for say pullets, in red lamp reflector. Yes, it produces heat, but it is not a long range one because emitting surface is small, comparing to the red light. So you'll have to keep it lower to bring heat to pullets.Otherwise, great invention.
