Love the tone
I personally like the sound better than regular G. Feels comfortable on fingers even when sliding. Really happy that they now sell one for soprano which I just put on my carbon Enya. It didn't work for my Outdoor Ukulele as it created a snare sound. I keep an extra of each on hand. I use Martin m610 and m605 for rest of strings for a soft tone and comfort

For best results, use with a full set of Aquila reds; not with other types of strings.
An Aquila red low G string is best paired with an Aquila red full string set. When used with other types of strings, the red low G string sounds dissonant. This is because, in comparison to the other strings, the harmonics and overtones are different. You wouldn't string a uke with three fluorocarbon strings and one nylgut string, right? The Aquila red strings also have a different tension than fluorocarbon and nylgut which effects strumming technique. If you're curious about the Aquila red, get a full set to used together. How do they sound? IMO, the reds have a somewhat percussive/ "fwappy" sound sort of like a semi-chuck. The sustain is also less than other conventional strings. It's like the difference between a metal wound string and nylgut string sustain. In a beat heavy or percussive arrangement, it sounds nice. The reds are not ideal for fingerstyle because the sustain is noticeably shorter than nylgut and fluorocarbon. Still, I like the sound of both Aquila nylgut and Aquila reds. Not better or worse, just different.

These strings are beautiful
Just buy it. Way better than a jimmy rigged low G string. It sounds so natural and beautiful.

These are sweet sounding strings.
I have these on my Ohana CK 35G. They sound great. The tone is so sweet and mellow. They do take a long time to stretch and they do stretch, a lot. They settle but still continue to stretch very little. Plan to tune each time you play but it's worth it.

My favorite low G
This is hands down my favorite low G that I've found so far. Its not a wrapped string so it lasts a lot longer and doesn't have that annoying metallic vibration sound of the wrapped strings.

Second time buyer
I was so pleased with the first package of Aquilas I bought I got this package of one low G string. Even though I have a slight hearing loss, these strings seem to make my ukulele sound brighter and cleaner than what came with the new instrument. The low G string turned out to be essential for me to play with good intonation, playing melody lines. I have also bought another full set of Aquilas for another ukulele. Some reviewers had qualms about the color, but I don't I'm mostly interested in quality intonation, and vibrant sound.

Had to get a second one
This low G is pretty nice, I like the color and sound, it matches pretty close to my other purple strings. I bought one about 3 years ago, but it broke a few months ago, not even while using it, while just hanging on the wall not being used for a while. I got another one though, good price, hopefully this one won't break again.

Only 1 string in the packet
Only 1 string in the packet, thought it was a full set including a low G string

Warm, flexible strings!
I love Aquila Red strings! The variable density make for more evenly sized strings and the texture of the string itself seems to provide beautiful resonance. I've used these on a Baritone (with wound low strings) and on a Concert and a Soprano uke. My favorite variety of ukulele string!
