Homecoming (The 100 Series Book 3) Kindle Edition

I think my biggest issue with this ending book of what was a pretty good trilogy, is why bother killing off sasha if the author was just making a throw away ending?? By throw away, I mean an entire village of earthborns being somehow (completely not described) defeated by the space adults who had been on earth about a month? Rhodes recaptured Wells, Bellamy, and Clarke, brings them back to camp as prisoners, then gets a beat down from the smaller earthborn group? Of course the 3 kids save the day, Rhodes is still in charge from his hospital bed and suddenly sees the error of his ways and they sing kume by ya together...so bad... To top it off, Clarke's parents are suddenly waiting right there for her at the earthborn camp! Happy cheeses ending for everyone except Wells, who had his love interest killed for no apparent reason.

WARNING: Books are snail paced. At the end of this book only a little over a month has passed in the story since it began three books ago. Also the TV series is nothing like the book other than the basic premise (ppl from space return to earth after apocalypse) and six character names. Relationships are changed, and that powerful female lead in the TV series is a pathetic lovesick puppy reliant on men and mostly used as plot device to fill in background information.

I really did enjoy the 3 books in the series. The storyline was rather shallow on the 1st one & after watching the series was a little disappointed to find some of my favorite characters not in the books. The 2nd book was better & I was glad I purchased the 3rd already so I could go right into the 3rd one. The series is great & I hope to see another season. However, the books still need more character depth. I recommend this book as it is interesting & fascinating in some places. But, I still wish the books were longer.

The book series The 100 is amazing! So intriguing. I couldn’t put it down. I will admit I found the books because I started watching the show. That said it’s important to know that it’s the books are so refreshingly different. It was like getting two similar stories, but very different. Where the show frustrates me.. the books don’t. Which is the perfect dynamic. This book (book 3) in particular really tugged at my heartstrings. The last chapter was spent fighting tears! I highly recommend this book to fiction lovers.

Not as good as the first two but a nice conclusion to the story. Some storylines ended just a little too neatly. Ms Morgan does leave an opening for another novel but no cliffhangers which I really appreciated. As many of the other reviewers have stated, the novels differ greatly from the television series. I think the best is a mix of both.*****Slight Spoiler********I like happy endings so I also want to thank the author for that as well. If she chooses to continue I hope she considers providing closure on each one from this point on.

I started reading this series because of the television series. Normally I find the books are better but not in this case. I am a huge fan of YA literature but the romances and relationships here are sophomoric rather than inspiring, and the dramatic tension wavers between melodrama and sheer boredom. Sorry, I tried to enjoy this read but failed.

From what I understand these books and the show are very different. This is more of a book for younger readers. The best way to describe these books would be a young adult soap opera with small amounts of scifi in it.The character relationships are developed so incredibly fast you pretty much don't see it develop at all, they just suddenly are in love, until they aren't. However they will suddenly be in love again in the next chapter. It's just to much of a cheesy teenage drama for me.The conclusion in this book reminds me of a Saturday morning cartoon. Everyone gets along and learns an important lesson at the end of the episode.

A lot happens in book three—with all the feels. Sometimes I wanted to scream at the twists and turns, sometimes cry, sometimes swoon. The entire book moved things forward in ways you both expect and don’t. All I know is I want more of Clarke, Wells, & Bellamy.

I've been watching the television series and have read the first two books in this series and enjoyed them. I have to say, this third installment is weaker than the first two. Firstly, the narrative is much less interesting, and much less of consequence actually happens. Some of the plot development is also incredibly contrived with characters appearing to behave in arbitrary and stupid ways only intended to move things along. There is also an awful lot of intrusive backstory, to remind us of what happened in previous books. Ok, some of this is necessary, but this all adds to the general slowness of the narrative pace of the book. Lastly, though I noticed this in the first two books as well, the prose-style is becoming more and more 'teen'. These are meant to be YA or teen books but that does not mean they need to appear to be written by a teenager. Sorry but there is an awful lot of 'she entered the room, her long blond hair streaming behind her'. Or the endless relationship bloat from such as 'it was what he loved about her, she always understood him'. I'm going to read the fourth book as well. I'm hoping it gets better.

As before, this book picks up where the last one left off and I started it straight away after finishing the last one.Homecoming begins with the remaining drop ships having crash landed and was quite enjoyable and very easy to read. I read it very quickly but, despite that, it’s not an amazing book.As before there is plenty of action and drama after the Vice Chancellor lands on earth with the others and starts flexing his authority. The first 100 to land on earth have got their own hierarchy and they don’t take lightly to the Vice Chancellor and his guards with guns.Like other reviewers, I was quite pleased that all the boyfriend/girlfriend swapping from the first couple of books seemed to have finished and everyone had settled down, I was also in serious danger of losing track of who was with who.A few characters die in this book, that’s not a spoiler - there has always been death - but there is quite a bit more in this book. I wasn’t upset by any of the characters deaths and I guess this is because I wasn’t really attached to them.I think that this book felt a bit more rushed than the others and the ending is a bit too perfect and predictable for me but overall I enjoyed reading Homecoming. I don't feel like I have wasted my time reading all the books so far and I picked up the 4th one as soon as I finished this one.

I liked the tv program so if your looking for a book based very close to that then don’t buy this as I think there are only about two things the same in it ie 100 kids are sent to earth and three of the same characters are in it but that’s about the only similarity. However if you have not seen the tv program but like futuristic adventure type books then this is a great read although it’s not that long a book but I did end up buying all 4 books and enjoyed them as a whole story. I would read them again.

This series has been getting stronger with each book. It started with a slow, set up novel and an okay read. While this book I really enjoyed and it got me excited for the finale.This was an enjoyable, action packed read. Kass Morgan seems to have settled into her writing, and the pacing is much stronger in this vs the first novel.If you’re a fan of the TV it’s worth keeping in mind that the stories are very different. But I do think it’s worth a go!

I have been watching the TV series for years and have now read the first 3 books back to back. The book story is different in many ways, but I can visualize the characters. I have enjoyed the story so far and have just bought book 4 so the story can continue again.
