Walnut Hollow Basswood Oval Plaque, 8" x 10"

The thickness made these so much prettier than expected.They were fantastic to put engraving on for my bride!We purchased ten different sizes!

used this for a chip carving project, and it was a very nice piece of bass wood. had to do a little bit of sanding on a rough edge, but no big deal

Nice sanding job needs little touchup.

While I am pleased with Walnut Hollow basswood products, I have found that Amazon does not have the best price. I recommend shopping around for a better deal, but aside from that- the product was good quality and arrived on time without damage.

I ordered this oval to do a wedding gift woodburning design on it. When I opened it, it is two distinctly different colors. I am very disappointed. I would have thought they could have matched the woods a lot closer than this in color. It's obvious by the seam line, that it isn't one piece of wood.

I ordered the 1838 Basswood Oval Plaque, 8 x 11 x 0.75. The plaque that arrived is only 8 x 10 x 0.75. That missing inch matters to me. I noticed only after unwrapping and putting pencil marks on it.Pity, as the plaque is solid and nicely made. I wanted to give it 5 stars.

This is made up of strips of wood glued together and the description says it can be painted or stained. One of the strips in the one I received is apparently end-grain wood and when I applied stain to it, that strip came out much darker than the rest. As a result, the finished plaque looks like crap.

I had a plaque already that was 8-inch by 10-inch and the one I ordered was not the same size. it was 8 by 10 WITH the lip, not the flat area. Which was rather disappointing.
