Davidson's Organics, Coconut Chai, Loose Leaf Tea, 16-Ounce Bag

Let me be clear, this is a great product! Great taste, aroma, great ingredients... But I would recommend one change, which I think has been mentioned before. My preference would be for the coconut to be cut into smaller pieces. The larger pieces allow for a great flavor add, but it also limits the amount of tea (and other ingredients) that can fit into an individual tea strainer. Otherwise, this is an easy recommendation for others. I will definitely buy more.

I love tea and I love coconut, so buying this bulk-packed bag sounded like a great idea with all the good reviews here. It comes packaged in a large brown paper bag, with a very sturdy resealable ziploc-type closure - it's easy to fill a tea canister with some, and keep the rest stored in the freezer for freshness. The aroma when you open the bag is utterly divine, rich and spicy, full of coconut. When brewed up, though, this tea is merely ok - that aroma unfortunately doesn't translate to a strong flavor. It's a decent black tea, not at all bitter or prone to that "overbrewed" taste that some poor quality black teas can get, but actually a little on the weak side. Chai should be so bold and aromatic that it easily stands up to a bit of milk, but instead what I get is a light black tea with a more subtle spice. I use a tea maker, and even doubling the amount of tea leaves I usually add to the brew basket doesn't get this to a strong flavor. It's not bad, it just lacks all OOMPH, so I'll finish this bag but won't buy the same again.

This tea isn’t awful or offensive by any stretch, but it just didn’t rock my world as far as chais go. I love a good chai and this one was pleasant enough, but it was really mild flavored and lacked some of the chai “spice” that I typically enjoy. I love chai for its cinnamon and black pepper (among other flavors) zing, and unfortunately I found this to be fairly weak. I tried steeping it for longer (5 minutes or more) and also tried using more tea, stuffing my steeper totally full. I think I’ll get another steeper so I can double up and see what happens! I will say the mild flavor makes for a very smooth drinking experience; there’s really no astringency or bitterness there.

I was very surprised when I opened the bag and saw the large ratio of coconut to tea. I was worried it wouldn't have that Chai taste but I was pleasantly wrong!! It is amazing and for an incredible price! Highly recommend this for chai and coconut lovers. Great hot or iced!!

Not the coconut chai I was looking for. I love coconut, but find the flavor too intense and overpowering. I’ll blend it with some more chai and try to use it up.

This was my first time trying this flavored tea. I like it, but I wish there was more coconut in it. I know that is a personal taste. Not a deal buster, so I will buy it again.
