Sandpiper of California 5016-O-ABU Bugout Bag, Multi, One Size

I’ve been using this ruck for about a month or so now. I put a 20lb. Weight plate in it and walk about 3.5 to 5 miles a day at least five times a week. Very comfortable ruck.

I was looking for a large bag to use for a first aid/trauma kit because the one I currently have is too small and the main compartment doesn't zip all the way down. This bag is perfect, just rugged enough with an internal frame on the back and the main compartment is very roomy perfect for large bandages and I bought four empty first aid pouches to fill and put inside as well. All in all exactly what I was looking for. Will work great as a bug out bag too.

I ordered the bugout bag in ABU camo and its very sturdy and I like it a lot. It can hold A LOT of stuff in it and I recommend this product to anyone.Pros:It's very very spaciousIts made of a good quality material (mind you, the 1000D is only for the camoflauge bags, ABU and ACU and the multicam, the website says that)lots of pockets in the insidespace for a hydration packCons:There is no hydration pack with the bag, but I guess one can just buy one at any sports store, but I thought the bag would come with one, provided that some hydration packs are fairly inexpensive.other than that, everything else is wonderful

If you really need a 3 day pack, 72 hour pack then save a little more money and buy the 5.11 bag. For light use it will be "OK" but it will not hold up to everyday abuse. The main zipper busted after 2 months and the material in my opinion is not that great. For a city slicker who rarely uses a pack this will work. For day to day activities, camping or a "BOB", buy a 5.11 or other premium bag... your money, spend it how you like but I work hard and want Quality for my buck.

This bag seems to be plenty durable for any sort of use you will put it through. My only complaint is the lack of a notebook sleeve on the inside. A pack this big should automatically have a laptop compartment. Not to say you couldn't easily carry one in this bag because there is more then enough room to do so. Love this pack for a carry on or a B.O.B.

I Have had this bag for over a year now and it is holding up just fine, i use it as my gym bag / whatever its my bag I'll do what I want to with it bag.Obviously, like with any bag, if you load it down with crap its going tear the stitches so just use common sense and this bag will hold up for years to come.

Bag is an amazing size. Can be small and normal backpack feeling, but the versatility to expand out and have the waist straps is a huge plus. Mine came a little frayed at the bottom, but isn't a big deal. Would, and probably will buy many more bags like this.

Jan 2016: Great bag, one less star because the material is not the same as the other SOC bags. It is a bit lighter material.UPDATE: May 2016... I compared my bag to the "same" bag at the BX. My bag is made of a much lighter material. The bag, same model number, sold at the BX has the same thick material as my black SOC. The material I thought this one would come in. Also the BX sells it for $89. This bag was not available local when I needed it for my deployment. I thought it was just different because of the pattern, nope. Not sure where amazon gets these.
