Super comfortable, very effective, looks and feels great
This is a wonderful bathrobe. It is made out of bamboo towel material on the inside, which, for people who haven't felt bamboo before, is the softest, most smooth and comfortable material out there. And for you environmentalites, it's also the most renewable resource for stuff like this on the planet. I got the L/XL size and though it is quite large, it isn't unwieldy and doesn't get in your way. This is a kimono-style robe, which means that it can be loose fitting, or tight, depending on whatever makes you feel more comfortable, and the sleeves are very wide, which some people aren't too fond of but I love because I've found in the past that other bathrobes were too restrictive when it came to the sleeves/shoulders. This robe is primarily white with cream/beige accents on the sleeves, pockets, and collar. As is the case with all robes and towels made with bamboo, it is extremely absorbent and also antimicrobial, I think. I wear this in the mornings before changing for school/work, at night right before bed, or right before and after a shower. Wherever this robe touches my body, I don't need to dry with another towel, so pretty much now all I have to towel off after a shower is my hair and face and feet. I can't emphasize enough how comfortable this thing is. Note that it is not 100% pure bamboo, but instead quite a high percentage of bamboo with a little cotton for stability and form, because I've noticed with previous pure bamboo robes that since they are so soft, they tend to slide off your shoulders after a while and fall down. This robe has two pretty large pockets on the front, one on each side, and it comes with a removable belt/sash that goes through loops on the sides of the robes and ties in front. There are two loops for the belt to go through on each side, one lower and one higher, so you can have the belt tie and ride at whatever height is most comfortable for you.

Classy and Comfy
I bought this as a gift for my boyfriend.I looked at other robes and they had the consistency and feel of an old used bath towel...some had loose threads hanging and others were made out of thin terry cloth. This robe has a nice soft silky feel to it and fits him perfectly. It is very absorbent and stays warm and cozy. Great for grabbing after getting out of the hot tub on cool nights.I liked the idea that this fabric was made with a bamboo fiber. He has had a 30 year running battle with the bamboo trees encroaching on his property, so the fact that he loves this robe is kinda like a little bit of Karma coming at him. The catalog sent with the robe features Texere's hand painted silk collection and the pictures of the garments are beautiful. This robe is made by Texere and is a quality product.

Superb deal on a quality robe
When I saw the white one for half price, I couldn't resist. Turned out to be an excellent bargain. I don't like normal terry robes; too scratchy and often have loose threads. This one, being mostly bamboo, is much softer & more comfy. Not really plush like a fleece robe, but more velour-feeling than scratchy terry. If you're expecting something lightweight for its size, the heaviness might surprise you at first, but it's really not that heavy once you put it on. I had a different style from this company before, more of a full-length robe; now THAT was too heavy. This one is just right: heavy enough for a little warmth in winter, possibly light enough for summer. The sleeves on the large size aren't as short as I feared, but they are short; they come down almost to the top of my wrists, but do ride up close to elbows if arms are bent, which is annoying. The arm holes are too large & floppy; that's the only thing I dislike about this robe and I docked a star for it, but it's not a dealbreaker considering the great price. Length is as expected; I'm nearly 5'10" and the bottom is about 4-5 inches above my ankles. It's not a full-length robe, though I guess if you're on the shorter side, it would be darn near full length for you.Ignore what a few gripers have written about the absorption quality. It's fantastic; I get out of the shower dripping wet, put it on, and am dry in under 5 minutes. The robe isn't even wet & heavy afterward. As for how it washes over time, and whether the antibacterial qualities of the fabric can help ward off odors as they claim, that remains to be seen. Sweaty summer is the better time to find out about that. But I do know that for only $25, this is one of the best deals I ever got on Amazon.

Not too heavy, not too light - just right.
Short version: This is an outstanding robe of an unusual material. I'd buy again.Long version: I finally wore out my old robe, so it was time to research. This robe was a finalist, but I chose another. It fell short of my expectations, so I ordered this one. I'm glad I did. This is my first experience with bamboo in this form. It doesn't feel thick, but it is very heavy in weight. The outside is a soft velvety weave, and feels nice. The inside is a small-loop terrycloth weave. It absorbs water quickly - much like cotton - if you use it right out of the shower. The material is thick enough to hold warmth on a cool day, but breaths well on warmer days. This is an outstanding feature of the material. Is it perfect? No - the material is so smooth and silk-like that the belt is hard to keep tied. One knot won't do it - it takes several. But I can live with that. Overall, this is the nicest robe I've seen/used for less than $150. If it holds up over time, we have a winner.

Seems nice at first, but NOT well-made!
So frustrating!! I bought this for my husband's birthday a month ago, and he loved it. It's very soft, and he wears it regularly. It's been through the wash twice (washing as directed), and a pocket is falling off already. The fabric seems nice, but I definitely would have expected a robe I spent over $50 for to last longer than a month. What a waste!! If you want to buy a nice robe, look elsewhere!

Not Thick or Luxurious
The robe was intended as a gift for my husband, but I decided to return it and buy something more luxurious. I was surprised at how thin the robe felt, and it looked a bit shabby to me. We prefer robes that are thick and fluffy, and ankle length. This was too short, and looked cheap. It was soft, however. Maybe someone who likes a lighter robe would enjoy this, but it wasn't our style.
