The belt is removable. At first you may think it isn't, but there is a snap at the center of the belt under the loop. If you unsnap it, belt comes off. Snapped your belt is secure.

Q: I weight 140 should I get a small or medium?

I weigh 125 and the medium fit perfect, not loose at all, like a glove

They all seem to hit right at or below the hip

A chart was still on this item when I purchased 2 of them. If this helps: 40DD, US16, The 1X fits perfectly, but the label says 1E. I also purchased a 2X, according to the former chart, but it’s WAY too big and will go to Goodwill. Too costly to send it back to China.
