Consistently Great
This is my third pair in 15 years. These are very comfortable, having a good-sized toe box, good ventilation and arch support. I've always used Superfeet insoles with all my hiking and walking footwear which brings these shoes up to another level. I use these in warmer months, and Lowa boots in colder months.

Almost Perfect
My everyday shoes for the last couple months. Amazingly comfortable, light weight, wide, and great arch support. These are great as walkers or hikers, the treads are high quality and perfect for bounce and grip. I love the quick lace top that makes these easy to pop on.Small issue... One of the cloth tab lace holes broke. I cut off the rest of that tab and the cut a hole through the base shoe to run the lace through. It works fine for me. They really should have had reinforced grommets as last lace hole before the quick lace hooks or a much stronger tab material.

Fits perfect
Very comfortable, sturdy tread. I loved the shoes.Of note, about 5 weeks after I bought them the glue on one of the shoes started to fail. I contacted the company and they stood behind the product perfectly. I sent pictures of the failure and they asked that I destroy the old shoes by cutting the tongues out and sending pic. I did so and they agreed to replace the shoes. It's taken 3-4 weeks to get new shoes, but I got them today. This company really stands behind their shoes, and that's what really counts.I am giving four stars versus 5 because I was without hiking shoes for a pretty lone time. But I am a happycustomer.Update:I got a lot of miles out of these shoes, but finally wore them out. Had them about 15 months walking about 5 miles a day. Liked them so much I've purchased a second pair to replace the first. Good hiking shoe with excellent customer service. What more could you ask for?Update II:I just received my 4th pair of these shoes. The first pair had a glue failure within a few days. I contacted Merrell and they replaced the shoes without question. The second pair lasted a little over a year. This pair was replaced due to sole wear/cracking. The 3rd pair lasted just over a year. This pair also failed due to a glue failure in nearly the same place... outside heel area and it was a glue failure. Functionally I like the shoes a lot and so I purchased another pair which I received today. However, I'm not getting very long life from these shoes. I love them for comfort, utility, and fit, but durability could be better. If I was a serious young person hiker I don't think these would last much over 6 months.I have to double knot the laces else they constantly come untied (this drives me crazy!). I tried tightening them very tight but this didn't help, it just wears out the laces much faster. The laces seem to be good quality, but they will not stay tied without double knots. The interior of the shoes are very durable showing little wear. These shoes would be much better if the company could figure out the glue issues. I'm a 65+ year old man that's pretty easy on the shoes. What I do shouldn't be considered that strenuous.

Nice boots
Has really held up well under strenuous, steep trails through Northern California national forests/parks. Minimal-no foot or ankle fatigue. Good traction. Heavier than a shoe but what one should expect from a boot built for extra stability and protection. Pleased with my purchase thus far.

Fit good right out of the box, insoles are nice & THICK. Feet still feel great at the end of a long day of hiking. Very happy.
BOTTOM LINE: These boots fit the bill to replace an aging pair of waterproof hikers from New Balance. These Merrell Moab boots fit pretty good right out of the box and were just what I was looking for: stylish, waterproof, with breathable mesh side panels for cooler feet. Let's just hope they hold up for a few years' worth of use out on the trails.THOUGHTS: I'd had a pair of New Balance hiking boots forever. They finally started to fall apart and I knew it was time for replacements, but I just couldn't find anything from NB that I liked, style-wise. I stick with them primarily because I have short, WIDE feet and it's a pain to find footwear that fits me PROPERLY, right out of the box. Nothing from NB was mesh/breathable, so I was forced to shop for a different brand. That's intimidating after so many years as a loyal New Balance wearer. A friend raved about his Oboz, and my wife has a pair that she really likes, so I bought their Sawtooth boots. They were standard (M) width but I had heard that they have a wider than normal toebox, so I crossed my fingers. They pinched right out of the box and even after trying to stretch them with a pair of shoe stretchers I knew they'd never feel truly comfortable, so I sent them back. After some further searching I settled on these Moabs from Merrell. As soon as I put them on I knew they were the ones. They have a nice fit, are surprisingly light - always a good thing with footwear you're gonna be stuck wearing, possibly for hours even days at a time, ofttimes in the middle of nowhere without the option to change into something else. The inserts are really nice. The padding feels really thick, with extra at the heels. It almost feels like there's a rolled up ankle sock in the heel area of the insets, they're THAT thick. Really feels good after along day on my feet. They are much less swollen / fatigued. My only real gripe is that I wish the laces were longer, and those wavy laces I've had in some footwear are nice and seem to come loose far less often, but that's a fairly minor quibble. If these Moab boots hold up for more than a couple of years I'll consider them a good purchase. If they hold up longer... well, I will definitely buy Merrell again if they do! If I have problems or any failures I will come back and amend my review - and list any issues. Here's to hoping!

Exceptional boot!
I’ve never owned Merrell boots before and I was surprised how comfortable these were right out of the box. I’ve been wearing these for a week now and I honestly don’t have anything negative about them. Only thing I maybe would nitpick is the insole isn’t the best. I’ve since replaced it like I do in all of my boots though. I ordered these in a size 11 wide and they are def wide which I like.

Great boots!
I have been wearing Merrell boots for years. Perfect for hiking or walking in rough terrain. Always fit good and don't need to be broken in.

Suuuuper contento! Super satisfecho!!!
