Q: Can you keep handle on while baking?

We kept it on handle while we cooked on stove top did not bake with it. It is for handle on skillet.

Q: How do you use these? These get very hot.

These are silicon handle covers for cast iron pans. When the cast iron pan is ready to come out of the oven, you slip the cover over the handle to protect your hands. It's like a pot holder. If you are using the pan on top of the stove you would use the handle cover the whole time you are using the pan on the stove top to protect your hands. They will get warm but not hot.

Q: Is this really only good to 275 Fahrenheit? That's only 135 centigrade - almost useless!

I can say the handle covers get blistering hot when just cooking on the stovetop, Worst thing i have ever bought, useless actually, as they do not fit snug they are loose, and like I said get far far too hot, on my cast irons, even when doing basic frying of bacon!
