I'm not sure how well this product really works. It makes her ears smell better but it is because of the fragrance in the liquid. I ended up going to the Vet for something because this stuff didn't take care of the problem.

I actually started to use Hy-Otic when my new lab got the same ear problem that my Chow dogs used to getbut that same medicine I got for them from the vet now required some kind of test (extra money, of course)before they would give me the medicine. I tried this after researching it on the internet & it seems towork just as well, when caught early on, as anything else & the price is great -- I spent twice asmuch as for one bottle when I got it the last time at a store.

Product works great! Took about 3 days and the problem seems to be gone. Would definitely recommend !

My dog is diabetic, so cannot have any medications - prescription or over the counter - that contain steroids, as it will cause his blood sugar to become way too high. Steroids such as hydrocortisone are typically contained in dog ear rinses and treatments, because they are effective to help heal ear infections. When my diabetic dog has experienced ear infections, I have been frustrated not being able to truly help him since I don't want to give him anything with steroids, but then found this ear rinse.Although it is essential to treat an ear infection in a diabetic dog with oral antibiotics, this non-steroid ear rinse is an excellent addition to a treatment regime. This ear rinse works very well to help clean my dog's ears and get rid of ear infections. It has the same consistency as water, and doesn't have any cloyingly sweet odor or too strong of a fragrance. My dog tolerates it fine, as well. Sometimes I put it directly in his ear as instructed, and other times I apply a little to a gauze pad and then use the pad to clean inside his ears. The product gives a generous amount of ear rinse, 4 ounces, so one bottle has lasted a couple of years. I have recommended it to several other diabetic dog parents.

Best ear rinse I have found. Smells similar to baby powder in dogs' ears and has kept my lab, who is prone to typical lab ear infections, infection-free. Not at all sticky, as some other brands we have tested have been. Great product.
